People still think that EA can do whatever they want with this IP?

lol

This just in, LucasArts exists.

There's a reason SOE didn't introduce a F2P model in SWG.

and yet, SW clone wars adventures is F2P with microtransactions and SWG got TCG with microtransactions... Your point is incorrect.

Yes, because that game is clearly a triple A MMO. lol

EDIT: Did I ever dismiss microtransactions? No, I dismissed F2P.

You have the details of the contract between EA and LucasArts? no. In the same manner people can't assume too much about sweeping powers, neither can you...i mean, unless you are a hypocrite.....are you?

Who needs a contract when LucasArts has a proven record of loving money?

Consider this: SOE didn't introduce a F2P model to SWG, which had ABYSMALLY low subscription numbers while they simultaneously introduced a F2P model to other games under their jurisdiction which, most likely, were doing better.

Do you honestly believe that that's a coincidence? If so, you have my condolences.

SWTOR is F2P till lvl 15 and for example LOTRO or APB went from subs to F2P and they are not alone. and LA is all about money. Just look at their record. Milking cow.

Don't compare SWG with this game if you clearly don't know what was going on.

SWG didn't go F2P cos they introduced TCG - microtransaction lottery for the game. And they knew that SWTOR will come in a year or so (it was a bit longer due to delays, but that they couldnt expect) and they would have to close the game. It's not free to transform game like SWG into F2P. There is player housing with 1000s of items, huge crafting system etc. It would be costly.

For those out there who want Microtransactions and love the idea;

Why do you want it?

What's so wrong with the subscription based model?

Do you think it will be cheaper in the long run?

I just don't get why people other than the game makers would want this type of system.

Personally I think the game should have both because Bioware deserves the money for creating this masterpiece among men.

You do realize that MT's can mean anything from paid transfers to fluff in game right? Also, as far as I'm concerned EA has their name on TOR because of BW and nothing more. I would expect that things that may be true for EA games, aren't automatically applied to Bioware games.
Vehicles in SWTOR are NOT mounts.
