I just have a question that I have not seen answered.

I have 2 level 50's on the "small" non-populated server. Typical problem when trying to group and/or pvp just long wait times and barely anyone to play. OK, so I started another character on a highly populated server "knowing" transfers were coming. I got that character up to lvl 42. OK, transfers become available -- great. Except I cannot transfer my 42 to be with my 50's.

Can we take the Highly Populated server "prior too" transfers and give them the option to go wherever they want?

So let me get this straight: I have a lvl 50 toon on a US PVE server and i want to move him on a EU PVP server...Impossibru? Do they even plan on allowing EU-US transfers and PVP - PVE ones?Saying that :"Later we will allow the players to transfer to a server of their choice" is very general! What i want to know is if they will allow US PVE to EU PVP ,vice versa and any variation of this particular kind.

I think it would be a smart move for BioWare to give everyone who endured all the shuffling one free character transfer of their choice once the dust settles and they begin to offer paid transfers. It would not fix everything but, in alot of cases, being able to consolidate that one prized character who got left out in the cold would mitigate much of the pain.

Our server hasn't even been up for transfers yet...not sure what's taking so long.

I think Bioware majorly overlooked the population problem. Why would it be a good idea to collapse down over 100 servers to about 10 or so? It creates a number of problems.

1. Naming. I know some people could care less about what their character is named, but some of us have built a bit of
a storyline around our names or have made their characters to look a certain way because of their name. This is all
thrown out the window when transfers arrived. Though I was not one of them, many people pre-ordered for the
sole purpose of reserving a name. You've just taught your customers that buying special things for the game and
paying that little extra something is not worth it.

2. Queue Times. I understand the argument that some of you make saying that the queue times will go down once
everyone is transferred and gets settled. Let's think about this though. Don't you think that a 30 minute queue on a
Wednesday night could very well transfer to a 45 minute to an hour queue on the weekends? What about holiday
weekends? I'm sorry, but the time I have to play is often limited and a lot of times, I have maybe an hour time block
where I can get in a few quests on an alt and refresh all my companions before getting off. Plus, I pay $15 a month
to play a game where I could wait for upwards of an hour to play? I'm sorry, but in a restaurant, you wouldn't be
seated and expect to wait an hour before a waiter comes by to take your order.

3. Overcrowded. Though I don't speak from experience, being on a dead server most of my time with SWTOR (we are
talking maybe 70 people on each faction at primetime and going without a PvP queue for as long as 5 weeks), the
rumors I hear of waiting in line on starting planets to finish a quest and such doesn't instill too much joy in me. Not to
mention the unspeakable lag I might encounter.

To be honest, I just think they should of changed the amount of destination servers to around 30. This wouldn't exactly mean hitting heavy to full every night population-wise, but it would be enough people for PvP to continually pop and give a good base for people to choose from for flashpoints, heroics, etc. Now you have other problems to address such as new players coming into the game not knowing about the server mess. "Light" doesn't exactly clarify how many people are on those servers. Room for new players on those mega-servers may be a problem as well.

I apologize for the rant, but the whole "don't transfer if you don't like it" is not a solution.

What I love, is the fact "The Fatman" server was labeled as getting a bunch of server transfers to it. Tons of people who made new characters there, stayed. Now there's multiple instances on the fleet, and it's usually listed as full in the server selection screen. I'd much rather move my toons to a PVP server any day, as well. I'm kicking myself for not starting them on a PVP server. Not a fan of the PVE-PVE, PVP-PVP type transfers only.

Its very possible they are looking into the waiting times that happened last night and (fingers crossed) they increase the population capacity to fix this problem.

I'd imagine that yesterday's transfers probably freed up alot of server hardware or started a process that will from the origin servers. Presumably, that equipment and associated staffing can be moved over to the destination servers to allow for greater capacity. I'd imagine there may be some lag in transfering those resources but, I am no server expert and have little idea how the actual hardware is configured. Makes sense to me in conceptual terms though.

Will Darth Sion (West) be available for transfer; it is as empty as many of the others, but it is not on the current list. I had a character on Kass City (East) just complete a transfer to a better server and want to have both characters on the same server. Tried to get an answer to the quest via CS and got back the standard "no answer" response.
