omg lol. stop being so dramatic. It's not going to be pay to win crap like a lightsaber that does 1000000 damage or anything like that.

probably skins, companion skins, weapon skins, stuff like that. Let's just be patient and see. But...if it's pay to win ****. As much as I love this game. I am GONE

I don't mind MT as long as it's for vanity items or convenience. And now the reliance on orange/mod-able gear to replace cosmetic gear you find in other games makes even more sense. In other games, a micro-transaction for a really cool looking piece of cosmetic gear might be hindered due to it not having top stats. But if that cosmetic gear were also able to be modded to compete in the game...you'd likely sell more of that item whilst avoiding pay-to-win.

Free to play has a terrible impact on the community. The maturity level goes way down and many of your fellow players don't give a rat's arse about the game or what they are doing - and demonstrate that quite obviously.

Even if they cap it at level 15 this really hurts the starter planets, Coruscant and Drummond Kaas.

Stores always start off relatively unobtrusive - and don't sell game altering items. Fairly soon there are pop-up ads for the store and items that we spent many many hours and huge amounts of credits for are now for sale.

I left EQ2 and LOTRO when they went free-to-play. And I went back to a few other games like DDO to confirm that the impact was very negative. If this happens it is a disaster and will drive a large percentage of the subscribers away. Isn't an Elder Scrolls MMO in the works? I had no plan to even try it but if this happens ...

If something like this was implemented and it had any pay to win features, the game better be free to play and if a game has either of those aspects I'm most likely not going to be interested in it anymore.

Even if it's only for vanity items I'd wonder why it isn't just available to everyone ( A gift for all the BS)... if they consider micro transactions before supplying us with enough adequate content (trust me you're really behind on that BW... like really really behind) it just wouldn't be pretty.

Unsub now and it will be f2p in a few months or maybe weeks.
Yahoo is not a very reliable source of information sadly.

Delusional seems to run rampant on these boards.

They are offering free 15 levels. They will be selling vanity items.

Wow has free subs to 20 (I believe), and has had vanity items for years now.

Neither is an indication of anything beyond what it says.
May the Schwartz be with you....

ideally yes but look at the posts in this thread, people support this crap and would rather buy items than earn them so that may have beeen true in other games I dont think this player base will be that way except for the few who it does matter, and yes I have the tawn fawn I got from a buddy I also have the taunling and taunlet I worked for and though the taun fawn looks better I do roll around with my gold taunling [i think thats the right name]

anyway my gripe is that we have crap items in game that look horrible for armor mounts and most mini pets even the social gear is ugly, this will not sell for real money people dont even want it in game for free. if they put in microtransactions all the best looking stuff will be bought with real money and the in game rewarded items will all be the same craptastic art design. because they know they cant sell that crap for real money.
Just go riding right by me on the crest of the new wave

The yahoo finance article is simply quoting a release they were given by EA to advertise their stock. It is factual information.

I don't seem to recall wow going to f2p to 20 until what, 5+ years into it's life?

Small difference, but it's ok, you're good at ignoring things.

I don't think we should be comparing this game to WoW, in any way, unless we're also willing to point out the fact that this game is on par with wow from 2006. Which wasn't f2p to 20 I might add. And also wasn't busy transmerging.

You're right about one thing though, delusional is all over this piece.
