So this has nothing todo with 400k people leaving, server cap increases and a mass exodus of people from US and EU servers to Asia Pacific servers. None of the servers were effected by that were they, is that what your saying ?

I am at a loss as to how to respond to him. If he is seriously claiming the drop in the playerbase was because people moved to Asia/Pacific servers I really dont know that one needs to respond honestly. Statements like that make the dissenting argument without the dissenting side even having to say a thing,

Your lack of reading is astounding, cos im sure as hell i said that 400k had left aswell and that caps had been increased on servers allowing people to roll on higher populated servers which has been shown by the posts on reroll fatman topics ASWELL as a mass exodus of players from eu and us server with the pacific migrations. Also to which point i never mentioned playerbase drop or a reason for playerbase drop, I stated playerbase distribution on servers.

But the fact is that you would rather argue against me then the point made, which is pre school tactics, i half expect you to say my dad is bigger then your dad next, gbye.

No. Asia/Pacific transfers did not turn 75% of the servers into ghost towns.

I knew the "super server" buzzword used by Erickson was intentional and I really could not see how it would play into this but now its clear.

"Mergers are not because of player loss, its because we have super servers now"

Brilliant PR. Absolutely brilliant.

Server merges are coming; there is no denying that. Sure, BioWare is not going to call the free transfers being offered for Star Wars: The Old Republic the start of server merges, but realistically that’s what they are. Our whole panel agrees; however, it also agrees that server merges are a good thing. The server populations are spread way too thin. In fact, it was spread too thin the week after launch, and that’s when the game had hit its current peak. The most frustrating issue is not that BioWare is doing servers merges, but how it is handling them. Justin Lowe sees no other good way to move the situation forward, but Larry Everett, on the other hand, is extremely disappointed. He said, “Out of all the ways you could possibly handle server transfers [...] the way BioWare is handling them is the worst.”

To find out more about Larry’s frustration, the exciting updates coming to SWTOR in update 1.3, and Gary Gannon‘s impersonation of Ed Park tune into the show today. We have three media personalities — Gary Gannon from GAMEBREAKER, Justin Lowe from Darth Hater, and Larry Everett from Massively — to tell us what’s what in the world of Star Wars: The Old Republic on our forum called The Republic!

I agree with them so much. Listen to it, because they bring up critical issues that most people are denying.
I want to punch the people who decided to make this show. It is so cynical about everything..

It used to be really excited and optimistic about the game.

The game made them this jaded.

The name thing is a game breaker for me as well, especially considering BW is choosing our destination servers, they do it to their self each and every time. Super servers, no one asked for super servers, we just wanted them condensed and they think they can do us one better and in turn ruin the game for a group of players lulz. I find it hard to bond with a toon I can't find a right name for (weird I know) and picking random names from a generator is a turn off for me, couple that with limited characters you can use in a name and you removed a rather important part to allot of ppl IMO.

To me, it's kind of inevitable when you have an epic storyline about becoming a Darth or a Jedi Master or 007... And then you get unceremoniously dumped into a never-ending set of menial tasks.

If they wanted a story-driven MMO, they needed to do a lot of small story updates. Having a story-driven MMO with new story content maybe once a year isn't going to keep people subbed year-round.

This is a head scratcher for me as well. I think they vastly overplayed their hand thinking rerolling was going to do the trick. The leveling exeprience was exactly the same outside of 2-4 class quests per planet. I think they had put all thier eggs into thet basket and had the first 6+ months post launch mapped out hence why we have gotten "legacy" as the core component to post launch updates and they were unable to adjust on the fly.

They will have to improve in this area or change design philosophy or the subs will continue to drop with spikes when they do release new story content.

It's just there is NO WAY in heck they can make content as fast as people can play through it. It took 6 years to make and 4 month for people to complete it.
