I am with you, nothing coming out that intrests me at all just more of the same ole stuff re-hashed, I do like the world vs world in gw2 outside of that the rest of the game is just the same ole stuff.
plus in today's market people come and go in these games, seems like allot of people play them until the shine wears off then moves on, which is one of the factors why there is not much of a community in mmo's today.
I wonder how many more mmo's the market can even bare.

For me being able to roll into warzones with a team vs random others makes pvp so much more fun.
I can assure you it will be a lot easier to get a ranked warzone match on the PTR than on the live game. Rankings don't matter on the PTR, so people won't care as much who they group with. They just want to form the group and do it. On live, you won't have that luxury.

I quit raiding in WoW in October, and I quit WoW altogether in February. I've been playing Panda Beta and the more I do the less it appeals to me. Too much Chinese culture, which really doesn't appeal to me at all.

I also unsubscribed from this game about 2 weeks ago, mostly because I generally found the skill level and "MMO Intellect" of the players to be a couple of notches below plus the insufferable grind to get PvP geared is ridiculous when you are forced to get stuck with the aforementioned players on your team.

I still have a couple of months left before shutdown, so I'll see how transfers and the patch go, and maybe that will change my mind.
I'm not arrogant. I'm just aware of my greatness.

Regretfully I will have to say no. For several reasons.

1) The lvling process of this game is inherently broken which diminishes replay value significantly. It is linear, far too easy, and the worlds offer little in the way of open exploration (barring Tatooine, Hoth, and to a lesser degree Alderaan). Deep water (swimming) quests could have assisted in breaking up the monotony of traversing similar mountainous, swampy, and cavernous regions on many worlds.

2) SC is garbage. I have been nice in most of the other threads regarding this subject, but I might as well be blunt here. Rails are a shameful substitute to instanced 3D SC. I contend BW could have designed just two SC missions in the 3D vein (one for PvP and one for PvE with coop capability) and it would have been more frequented than the current variety are played. For those that were here many remember BW had a full year to just scrap the rails and start fresh: They chose not to, much to the playerbase's chagrin.

3) Not be able to interact with the in-town environment was unfortunate. Sitting in a cantina would have been nice.

4) Dynamic weather events and day night cycles would have made the worlds feel a bit more alive.

5) Fostering world PvP in game about a war between two factions seemed elementary, yet I ran across maybe ~20-30 moments where I had the opportunity to engage the enemy.

6) They made the majority of crew skills useless till it was a bit too late and in the same breath nerfed biochem because enough of the pop was complaining it was OP. Absurd.

I do enjoy the story wheel, the crew skills system, the class stories coupled with the companion arcs(smug/troop), and some of the FPs/Ops encounters. Some of this game is not too shabby: it just isn't enough for me to justify $15/month after paying a premium for the box.

IfI had ever felt like I was actually engaging in this supposed war that was transpiring I might have given this game a bit more of my time, but I did not so I am having to sing happy trails to SWTOR.

For those that enjoy the game I hope BW can keep the lights on, but I am not optimistic.
Prediction, SWTOR's servers shut down in the next ~1-1.5yrs. Sad but I am pretty sure true.
I don't discuss things as a committee, I don't care about a protocol droid's opinion, and I wish I had more time to get her excited

Nope.
Edited because the devs appear to have fixed at least 80% of the crap that was pissing me off.

SWToR doesn't have little fuzzy pokemon characters running around so I will not be going anywhere. 1.3 will be bring those on dead servers to more active servers but it will not fix it for the players who played 18 hours a day and level'd 20 toons to 50.

From this I'm gathering that those of us that seek an MMO shooter where gear progression is their first priority are burning out. Those of us that seek an MMORPG and a community of friends where gear progression is secondary to the enjoyment shared with friends and guildmates, are still very much enjoying the game.

I'm guessing for some, the game is expected to provide the fun for them, where for others the game is simply a platform that provides the environment in which they can make their own fun.
What you are saying about two different play motivators (watch number increase OR have fun with others) has merit, but here's my counter to your argument:

As far as many players are concerned, there are better games for either "playstyle." As far as I'm personally concerned, this game wasn't even "release quality" until 1.2, everything before that was pay-to-beta.

I'm definitely of the "MMO shooter burnout" mentality -- I like to see my numbers go up. I like to hit harder, I like to have more HP, I like to mitigate more damage. I like killing things and progressively making future things easier to kill through my character's personal development. I enjoy the social aspect of a game insofar as I get to kill stuff with people I like. I'll never be caught sitting around chatting up a cantina.

But with TOR, I'll be honest, I haven't experienced any of the endgame content. Not because I don't want to, but because my server is deadsies. EA may let me transfer off of it starting tomorrow, but they may not. The single server that they may ship me to may just be another fledgling where I can't find a massively multiplayer playerbase -- there are threads from PTR players saying that even in a fleet of 70 people it still takes an hour for the groupfinder to pop as a tank.

The *only* thing that TOR brings to the MMO genre is that they put the "RP" in "RPG" through the voice acting and BioWare dialogue wheel. Now, I'm not trying to underscore the value of this -- it's amazing. The first time you do a batch of content (especially with a RL friend or two) it's absolutely fantastic. I can laugh at my Smuggler buddy's total lack of standards for the many, many women he has "pillow fights" (that's what he calls it) with, and we can crack up every time my Trooper shoots someone he's supposed to negotiate with and then shamelessly hits on Elara.

Once you've seen anything a single time, though, the fun ends. Strip away the (very good) "RP" part of the game and you're left with a very inferior WoW clone with Star Wars paint on it. If you want content and ways to access that content, WoW and Rift stomp all over this game. You get more stuff to do with more features and less clutter (4 loading screens to change planets? Pass) with your friends or a batch of strangers. If you want to enjoy a more sand-box style open world, TSW has a bit of that going on (though I hear that may be all it has going for it).

TL;DR: If you're playing TOR simply because that's where your friends (RL or otherwise) are, you could all probably switch games (after seeing mostly everything in TOR once) and get more enjoyment per time invested than you ever could by staying here. This game is more Neverwinter Nights: Star Wars (and undeserving of a sub fee) than it is MMORPG and I don't see EA fixing that any time soon, the shoddy groundwork is already in too deep.

Very true, and a great many people are still in denial about it.

I remember in Beta, right after Blizzcon, I joked about the following exchange that probably happened at Bioware HQ:
"Ok boss, it took us 4 months but we've finally put the finishing touches on the new talent trees. 31 points in each of three trees, lots of abilities and spells that will be familiar to MMO players of "that game who shall not be named." I think we're ready to go"
"Hey, guys, guys, guys! Big news from Blizzcon: WoW just got rid of talent trees"
"FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"

So from what I've been reading is that most of the complainers are the spacebar warriors who have burned themselves out from the game because they decided to skip the biggest asset of the game, the RPG. While others, like myself are enjoying the game for what it is and taking our time. Makes sense.
