Correction, wow allows you to transfer from any server to any server. So not so unexpected. Here it shouldn't matter.

Nope.. same old tired boring gear grind at 50.. I'm so OVER that formula.. Been there, done that..

they have allready started ive spoken to more than a few people who have tried it and said its been overhyped to death.

It's because of people spamming GW2 everywhere, why THIS game? Because its freetoplay? There are much more interesting MMOs coming out soon instead of another overhyped medieval cartoony crapgame like guildwars.
The beta sucked, sorry I wasted my time on that really.

just because WoW does something doesn't mean its ok. It should DEFENTLY matter. PVE should not be able to transfer to PVP.

Transfers and 1.3 are no cure for the lack of diversity, fun, PvP and PvE content.

So no, my sub will end in a few days and I think I'll never return. This game as an MMORPG is just horrible - and that's what can't be changed anyway.

This seems to be the camp from which the unimpressed tend to spawn.

From the other camp spawns those that build friends and guildmates, to where the "grind" is peripheral to the participation in a game, with friends.

From this I'm gathering that those of us that seek an MMO shooter where gear progression is their first priority are burning out. Those of us that seek an MMORPG and a community of friends where gear progression is secondary to the enjoyment shared with friends and guildmates, are still very much enjoying the game.

I'm guessing for some, the game is expected to provide the fun for them, where for others the game is simply a platform that provides the environment in which they can make their own fun.

This is a good example. This poster expects the game to provide his fun for him, as demonstrated in his list. He clearly lists "fun" in his expectations of game design.

I see no issue in this game from that standpoint as the groups I am with provide all of the above. The game is just the petri dish from whence that grows.

I re-subbed after reading the features for 1.3 and seeing that phase one of the transfers starts on June 12th. I wanted to be subbed at that point just to be safe.

this is exactly right. MMO is about the people, not the game.

i am at the point where I simply do not consider ToR to be a AAA MMO. it certainly had a lot of bells and whistles at launch, and the 1-50 leveling was a lot of fun, but the game did not PROMOTE community. EVERY decision they made, split people apart, from the pre-made guild launch (which failed) on down.

we were just talking about this the other day on mumble. In other MMOs, i have a very healthy list on my friends list, so when we needed someone to pug, i always had someone to fill in. In this game, it's not that i've suddenly turned anti-social, the game simply does not promote you to group with others.

so, I am still in the game because my 6 month sub still leaves me with almost 70 days left, I lead the raid for my guild, and I enjoy raiding with them. The truth of it though, I can raid with my guild in another game, with raids that aren't riddled with bugs, and a lot more polished with more interesting encounters, with devs who do not think "balance" means nerfing to the lowest performer.

so, no, 1.3 does nothing for me. I was already on a healthy pop server (Harbinger).
