TBH I've defended this game to the bitter end on some forums but when the population on my server dropped to the point where I spent more time waiting for WZ's than I did playing, I began to turn on the Community Managers for a strategy of not actually communicating with the community they were in charge of.

For me to resub once my six months is up, these server transfers will need to be done and dusted and queue times will have to have dropped considerably for WZ's.

I'm hoping all goes well but you know.... who can tell.

True, but then they had 12 million at one point. Percentages would have been a better argument.

It's true that many MMO's don't have all their features at launch and that they evolve (which is why I'm still open minded about returning to this game someday). On the other hand, it's also true that when you launch an MMO, you're competing with other MMO's as they are now, not as they were when they launched. Money paying customers have the right to voice their disappointments when something they feel an MMO should have isn't in the game or even planned for.

If you're happy with the game, then good for you. I truly have well wishes in my heart for those who still enjoy it (my wife being one of those btw...she treats it as a single player game though). I too was once a happy money paying customer. Now I only pay for 1 account instead of two

Whilst yes this is competing with mmos we all know and you would be lying to yourself if you thought otherwise but the way this mmo competed against others was through biowares true expertise at story telling. Thats why alot of us bought it.

It wasnt a case that it had to have group finder or arenas or even add ons, it was that we were buying a bioware game with the strongest point of bioware being story telling. As such they have changed the face of mmos from this point on. If you look around mmos coming out now or exisitng mmos are trying to addapt to full voice overs and more cutscenes and even more emplhasis on story telling.

Thats what SWTOR brought to the mmo world and quite frankly i doubt anyone will be able todo it as well as bioware. To this point there is nothing stopping bioware building upon the game they have made and adding features in that others want. 1.3 is bringing group finder. Its also bringing custom clothing and looks. it already had that to a very big degree via the move set bonus and orange gear.

Now try and think of any mmo that has done this much to an mmo by its 3rd patch. now imagine what this game will be like by the time 1.9 comes around and what they will put into an expantion when they are willing to put this much into normal patchs.

As to the wow numbers, its a very tricky one to guess but we all know that the 10 mil they had 5 years ago will more then likly be a very different 10 mil they have today. They arnt all the same subscribers and alot of new have gone in as the old have gone out.

You make good points, but mostly they go to my reason why I'm open to returning some day. The game as it is now though...only kept my interest for 6 months. To those of you sticking it out...sincere kudos

Well you will be in good company, as your sig says most of whats wrong with the game is server balance and not much more beyond that. There are plenty of peeps who will have bought the game played for a bit and then gone away till stuff gets added, probably playing something else as a filler until later on. Some do it simply for kudos of being on the game since start even if they havnt played constantly.

So hasta luego and hope you have fun on what you do as a filler. But if you have the free months id stick around until 1.3 and the xfers hit. Will be a big dif when that happens me thinks. Infact id suggest getting the pts and messing on there, wont hurt after all and you get to see some of the changes 1st hand.

1.3 comes server transfers and LFG Tool. These are features that should have been in at launch, and I think contributed to the decline in subscribers. So will those of you that are currently not subbed to the game return with this patch? Are your friends returning?

I know some people returning to this game on Wednesday, and I'm curious if I'm not the only one.
Not really. Honestly I don't find anything in the patch alluring. LFG is a nice addition, but I have absolutely no reason to run it other than to just kill time. I don't care about the commendation rewards. Black Hole is practically useless to me without a set bonus, and I won't buy it just to pull all the mods out and move them to rakata gear. Plus the armorings in my main's gear for Black Hole are all the wrong ones. They're the tank ones instead of the dps ones. I don't need flashpoint gear on any character. I mean I could get it for alts that don't have it, but it'd be just as easy to run my alts through guild story-nightmare of EV and KP. But class balance isn't being addressed. The merc changes are laughable. Marauders aren't getting toned down. I have no interest in having to switch to a character I don't enjoy playing just so I destroy the fodder classes. I have most of them at 50 or close, I'm just not interested in playing fotm classes. To be frank, since the release of D3 it's becoming harder and harder to login. Our numbers have dropped by half (in swtor) and when I'm on vent most people are playing other games, whether it's D3, ME3 MP, Guild Wars 2 Beta, etc. Most of the folks who took a short hiatus for D3 just haven't come back, even after they cut back their D3 playing.

Nah I don't think so. I cancelled my sub 2 weeks ago and haven't been back on since to ride out the last few weeks. I have alot of the same issues everyone else has. Too many epic bugs, endgame armor looks dumb as all hell, fixes take too long to come, super light servers, NEW LEVEL CAP SOON-ISH?!?! ***?, nothing substantial in terms of content being added in 1.3, and the biggest of them all I'm bored.

I can see coming back just to try for every reason other than my last one. I'm just so bored at level 50. Those of you who say "oh, just herpa derp level another derpalt!" No. The stories are interesting but i'm sick of the rest of the nonsense "Kill 10 million X enemies" on every planet. I've done all the endgame content with the exception of the NM KP/EV but most of the time i quickly run through my dailies in like an hour or so (yeah im about that fast, +30 min if im taking my time) then sit on fleet doing crafting waiting for a WZ que to pop or a group to be shouted for on fleet. I play with RL friends and new SWTOR ones, I do space combat, I do WZ's, I do endgame PVE content, i've gotten all the datacrons, I have 2 lvl 50's with another lvl 35. Sorry, but i'm just so bored. I got CoD, Halo, Minecraft, new Skyrim dlc in a few weeks, D3, I wanna get on that GW2 beta, etc etc etc and I have significantly more FUN with all of them.

Also, let's not forget the bitter taste I have in my mouth after DA2, ME3, and now this. yeah i'm being a spiteful ___hole but I just don't want them to steal my money anymore. EA is a crappy business that has ruined Bioware. Say what you will about Activision/Blizzard but Blizzard hasn't delivered a crap product. They've maintained their reputation and that's what sells their games. If a sandwich shop that once made amazing sandwiches decides to cut corners to save money and now make a disgusting overpriced sandwich, are you gonna keep giving the shop a chance after the $280 of rotten sandwiches that you've purchased (roughly how much I've paid for EAware products)??? Keep my money EAware, I hope you choke on it.

Havent really decided yet. For the time being my sub is cancelled and runs out on the 20th. 1.3 isnt really going to make me reup. I play with a group of friends that have pretty much vansihed from the game. We use to raid a few times a week. There pretty much is nothing for me to do at this point. I was only logging in this long to play with my friends. With most of them gone there really isnt any point of playing. No content, no friends = no fun. Could I make new ones? I guess I could but Ive played with these guys for years and they are more to me then just random new guildies. It kind of sucks the fun out of it for me. Ive ran all the flashpoints too many times. I dont really enjoy stun lock pvp. I ran the raids until friends left. Raiding was even getting boring. So all in all... this game would need alot more content for me to want to play... im talking about things that are not flashpoints/ops/warzones. Even the announced planet will probably only last the casual player a week at most.
