Character Transfer: No priority to sub accounts over unsubbed accounts for names?

I didn't twist your words. You posted something that was your opinion as utter fact. So I did the same with my opinion.

These transfers aren't really of free will. They are basically marking certain servers as dead and if you are on there then you need to transfer or play alone until they force you to transfer because the server is shutting down. These are server merges with a different name.

I agree with the guy that quoted Shakespeare and what's in a name.

Another way to put it imo, to quote some Poison here...

Every rose has its thorns (possible duplicate name)
Just like every night has its dawn( you are getting a free chance at getting off your dead sever in favor of one with a population)
Just like every cowboy sings a sad sad song ( the absolutely amazing QQ fest that will occur when your super special entitled only to you name is already taken on your new server)

In all reality, this whole conversation makes me lol irl, especially the one about leasing a car and not making payments. (yeah that's TOTALLY the same thing hahahahahahahahaha)

As stated already, the general rule of thumb in an MMORPG, if your transferring off a server(by your own choice or a dead zone freebie) if someone else already has the name then you are SOL and not as original as you thought eh?

It took me 5 minutes to answer this question.

The names are tied to the account, which you do not have to be subscribed to have, so whether you are subscribed or unsubscribed, by the TOS you have the same rights to the name.

Fourth and part of the 5th paragraph of the TOS.

"An EA Account (also known as an Origin Account) ("Account") may be required to access and use some EA Services. If you have questions about Account registration, please contact us by visiting help.ea.com, support.popcap.com (for PopCap products) or swtor.com/support (for Star Wars™: The Old Republic). "

"To create an Account, you must have an email address, and provide truthful and accurate information. You must be eligible to use the EA Service for which you are registering. In addition, some EA Services may require creation of a "user name" or a "persona" to represent you in game and online. User names and personas are tied to your Account."

Get over the name deal. It really isn't a big deal make a new name!

Because things can never be improved on right? With millions of users plus multiple characters for each user you start to run short on available names. It's pretty simple really: A customer who purchased the game and has been subscribed and had spent hundreds of dollars should have preference over someone who never purchased the game. Implementing that is top customer service. Not doing that is poor customer service.

How about who ever has the highest legacy lvl. Then the person who actually has a bigger legacy can keep the legacy name and possible the character name. Saves lives and potential problems from happening.

How would someone who has NEVER purchased the game have a name to begin with?

People who pre-ordered, but then cancelled the pre-order were still able to play for free during Early Access.

People who did the trial weekends or refer a friend trials got to play without buying the game.
