Do Worlds Feel Lifeless?

Love the game.. but the worlds are lifeless no doubt about it. More pathing NPC's, critters, weather etc....would have been nice.

According to some users this has been requested since 2008. Guess BW thinks different about it.

This is actually already in the game, watch the ships flying above you on worlds like Balmorra or watch what happens in the sky on Ilum... sure, some worlds haven't much ongoing there.

Scripted events which happen over and over again.
In SWG there were player ships in the sky, that was more exciting.

More people doesn't change the "lifelessness" of the environment.

I think most folks who've come from SWG understand what the OP is trying to say. It has to do with the overall interaction with the environment and the variety of different types of activities.

Sure, more people can enhance the overall experience but that doesn't change the overall tone nor does it provide the variation that a sandbox game can offer.

No, this game was never intended to be sandbox, and I don't expect them to change it to be such. But from a pure stand-point of immersing one's self in the world of Star Wars, TOR falls far short of what SWG offered in that regard.

I am fine with scripted events... sure, having players do stuff is always nice, but I think it's more important that the world feels alive even when no other player is around... and yes there is still much room for improvement in SWTOR.

I've never thought about any of the things you mentioned, but I haven't played SWG.
It would be really cool, not to mention immersive, if Bioware were to implement those ideas.
Quesh having 4 people is not a problem man the other day my server had 7 people on the republic side. (Sorry if I'm replying to a really old post....)

EQ may have had some issues, but if a13 year old game can manage to have day/night cycles , mobs that only spawn at night, far better npc AI, and an immersive faction system, surely SWTOR could have done better.

I love the game for what it is, but it's hard to truly immerse myself in the world because it doesn't really feel like one. Everything feels static and lifeless to me. Am I alone?
I do agree that NPCs should be moving and stuff

I would love to see NPCs haveing routines and what not. But that would require day/night and higher computer specs I would guess and TOR is trying to be accessable to all.

Still worlds do feel rather static at times
In regards to lessening F2P and Preferred restrictions
In GAMING, as in LIFE,
You get what you pay for
No game restriction is so dire that $15.00/month will not eliminate it

Higher computer specs? LOL. No. This was working 10 years ago in certain "other MMOs". If there is one thing which is not the problem here, itīs computer specs...
