How did we stop anyone from respawning? The medcenter is outside. They never said this couldn't be done. The only thing they did say was that it was being done and that they were redesigning the guards to be a higher level. We still killed all the guards regardless and anyone zoning into the planet is automatically flagged by biowares own design. Why can't you wrap your head around that? The design of the hangar AUTOMATICALLY flags you for pvp. Why does it do that? So there is a chance of pvp I presume.

I am starting to think you have had a failed PvP experience and are still licking your wounds a little.... its ok to feel upset, the pain will go, honestly...
Great rule of thumb I always use is.. learn to accept my weaknesses, pick myself up, dust myself off and try, try again.

Now for you this may have affected so much that trying again is too painful an experience, therefore I would suggest a radical change of direction either to your nearest RP server or ----> EXIT ALL AREAS!

For the third time now pvp does not mean grief. You can pvp away from bases. Why do you think they wanted to take over the base in the first place? I mean come on it doesnt take a genius to figure this stuff out.

You're right. It doesn't. We were causing faction vs faction world pvp. Something many guilds on The Fatman do. This is one of the main spots for it. Its a PVP zone. Its not a safe haven like Voss where you can run around unflagged. If Bioware doesn't want us to world pvp there they would make it so it wasn't a pvp area like Voss. Follow?

In regards to them posting on the issue before, the only thing I found was regarding the Illum base camping. Bioware stated...

"As many of you know, large groups of players began capturing the Ilum control points, then 'camping' at the enemy's base. This led to a very frustrating experience for a number of players who were unable to leave their base and fight back against their attackers. It was not a fair gameplay experience."

Sounds pretty comparable to the issue that's been described in this thread. Not exactly the same, but relatively close. It was stated in the thread that the players who were warned were left alone after they cleared out of the base. Seems to me it's pretty obvious what they were warned for.

Wrong. The ilum base camping was due to players being farmed at the medcenter. Which we were not doing. Since the medcenter is outside. Good attempt though. Now since you said youre able to read and follow rules try this out since you missed it.

PLAYER VERSUS PLAYER SERVER:
This environment allows players to attack other players in many areas of the game. If you are looking for a taste of direct intergalactic conflict against other players, this may be the type of server for you. Please be advised that interactions and activities that occur as part of player versus player combat on this type of server are not considered a form of harassment or actionable behavior by Customer Service.

Weren't we threatened with action by a GM? Hmmm. Something fishy here me thinks.

This thread was started late last night (Friday night) or early this morning (Saturday morning) depending on your time zone. I guarantee there is no one at BW Austin who is in a place to comment on this right now, so everyone in here is going to need some major patience. The one yellow post was from a CS rep just keeping the thread clean, he's not a dev and probably not high enough up the totem pole to make a public statement about BW's pvp game policy, so stop attacking him for not replying.

Whatever BW's policy may be, the GM handled this situation incorrectly. If you guys were somehow killing respawns and people couldn't even leave the base to get away from the pvp, then you should have been warned and told what you were doing that violated BW's policies. It looks like this GM was on a power trip and the situation was mishandled. BioWare didn't do this to you, one person did -- but now it is the responsibility of BW to clean up the mess and communicate with it's employees. It's still like 6am in Austin, so don't expect that for at least 6 hours (perhaps a couple days, in all honesty).

Anyone cancelling their sub over this incident (as it currently stands) is just as reactionary and ludicrous as the GM that started this whole thing (assuming the OP's claims are 100% accurate). This is one incident by one GM and we, as customers, should be patient enough with the company to understand that no one is going to respond to a pvp thread at 3am, it's just not going to happen. Now, if a week passes without comment, then feel free to release the hounds. Until then, lets keep it civil and wait for BW to chime in officially and explain how they view this whole situation. They may not be able to comment on specifics due to privacy policies, but they can certainly clarify what is and is NOT considered inappropriate conduct on a PvP server in terms of base camping and open world PvP.

So why not fight somewhere where there is no lowbies? Surely "real" pvpers would prefer a challenge?

What I quoted was taken directly from Bioware. Therefore you can state "WRONG!!!!" all you want.

See here... http://www.swtor.com/blog/ilum-pvp-issues

It continues on to say "In addition, some players on the attacking side gained more Valor points than designed for the time they spent in PvP." It's very explicit in the blog, they had issues with both the in base camping and the excessive valor gain, which is exactly what "in addition" means. To say otherwise just shows you have no interest in having an honest conversation about the matter. You don't have to agree with that sentiment. It's not my opinion. It's what Bioware stated. And to presume that the statement 'Please be advised that interactions and activities that occur as part of player versus player combat on this type of server are not considered a form of harassment or actionable behavior by Customer Service." means anything goes is obviously wrong based on the reaction from Bioware at the time. They didn't suspend or ban anyone (that I'm aware of) for camping the base. But they very clearly had an issue with it. Insofar as they dramatically buffed the turrets so it wasn't feasible to do again.
