Maybe you missed the fact that only people with active subscriptions can post here. I doubt anyone pays the monthly fee just to post here...

I try not to let this get in the way of my posting (though obviously it does shine through from time to time), but I can't help but get the feeling many of these trolls are either spoiled or coddled. I was in SWG from the beginning. I know what a truly dying MMORPG looks like, what happens to the community & the company managing it, what happens in-game, etc. I mean, it's like comparing a schoolyard brawl to the Vietnam War. It's almost insulting to those who HAVE seen true game death. :-P

Frankly, if Eve Online can stay successful for this long on its meager subscriber count (another game I play), then there's no reason to think that SWtOR can find a successful equilibrium even if the subscriber count dips to lower levels, and we aren't even anywhere near that point yet.

Hi OP:

Your confusion is confusing me.

How could you possibly be confused?

You should, going forward, expect LESS content with less developers, that you would have expected before layoffs.

Is anyone out there confused by my confusion at the OP's confusion?

Probably...

You'd be surprised. Some people pay $15 a month to join a school club to socialize once a week, or look at naked pictures. If I enjoyed complaining as much as some of these trolls do, I wouldn't put it past them. But hey, more money to the game I enjoy, so the only skin off my back is the fact that the general discussion forums isn't functioning as it is.

4 pages later, and we're back to square one. This is why I don't post here very often.

Or the people using their combined free 60 days or the people who bought 6 months, etc... if you look on sites like G4 and YouTube, you will see people admitting to spending their free time trolling these forums, I have seen a lot more than I would have liked.

Honestly, some of these posts scream of trolling, but I digress.

As for the shareholder documents, take what they said about Swtor as a grain of salt. They were spinning things around that were technically true, but realistically seem to be untrue. For example, the fact that they lost mostly the casual players? On my server, it seems most of the hardcore players left. The casuals to me would be the ones that enjoy playing the various story arcs on each of their characters.
You do realize that the shareholders can take EA to court for fraud if they misrepresent things to the shareholders, right?

Like I said (about fifty times, apparently), the 1.3 million is primarily made up of people with ACTIVE PAYING SUBSCRIPTIONS. If you've got something other than a gut feeling that this isn't true, I'm all ears. Until then, I'll go with the actual numbers and the shareholders' info.

And just what are you trying to say? "Technically true but realistically 'seemed to be untrue'"? Could you elaborate on this & provide examples?

By the way, I didn't see any discussion of "casual" versus "hardcore" players in the shareholders' materials. Where are you quoting from in the shareholders' reports/press releases?

The problem is that I apparently have a condition where I cannot help myself from replying to posts on this topic that involve my major. Like some weird kind of OCD. I should probably go talk to a therapist about that...

Why can't you "I've just unsubbed, so I came here to the forums to post all about it" people get a new hobby? Or buy some other PC game and play it? Do you really have to come here to "flaunt" your unsubscription?
Think of this: If you will play a Jedi or a Sith, now you will never get to take your apprentice to fight with you in flashpoints, warzones or raids. You will never face together any of the big end-game bosses.
