Is the Legacy system killing SWTOR?

In 1.2, the new Legacy was introduced. Rocketboots, Ship GTN, Repair Droid, O MY! O MY is right when you look at the cost for those things. Indeed a feature which one does not have to buy, and in fact hardly anyone buys. The promised features that would cost players nothing but to simply play for free such as, Ranked Warzones and 8man group queues were never implemented. People have stopped playing especially those that are on a PVP server. Less and less people are logging on everyday on my server and it seems to be these drastic costs of legacy features and costs of upgrading augmented gear. I myself pay to play this game not pay to try and make ingame money so I can buy features which should be free since we already have the Legacy level for it.

Now, 1.3 is in the works, and the Legacy system is further being implemented, more augment features are being added, and character transfers. Learn from the mistakes of 1.2, do not add more features that make people want to quit due to grinding for ingame money so they can pay for a system they have already earned by getting Legacy levels. It's sad that like most people on my server, I am looking forward to the server transfer than I am the actual features of the game. Add simple features that will be more useful or meaningful to every player.
-8-man group queues for warzones.
-Make Legacy system be based of Legacy Levels only. (this will fit into wanting people to make alts cause they will want to try and get to legacy 50)

I want this game to strive, but I cant do it playing alone on my dieing server. All I can do is voice my opinion and hope it helps to get others to want to stay in this game and continue playing.

Nah, I don't think it's the legacy system. People stuck around after 1.2, the game died when Diablo 3 came out. After people kill Diablo 4 or 5 times they'll be ready to get back to MMOs. The question is which MMO. I hope by then SWTOR has added Ranked WZ and does some server merges so people will have something to come back to.

Seems strange that I must first grind to a certain legacy level, to then unlock the privilage to buy something.

One legacy level should = one legacy point.
Points = buy perks.

Not this credit system, not all of us are level 50's who powergrinded all the way then exploited credits. Way to many creditsinks in this game, Way to many.

Dev1: Let's add in all this stuff they can buy for their legacy.
Dev2: Yea, but make it ridiculously expensive so players will spend countless hours grinding credits!
Dev2: Great idea!
Dev1: We're so smart! (high fives)

This would have made so much sense.

Or just simply unlokcing aspects of the system which each level, like how Valor form PvP unlocks random abilities or how full Light or Darkside ranking unlocks something.

I actually like the high prices. That makes unlocking all the features actually be somewhat meaningful. It SHOULD take time and effort to build up a substantial legacy, and that makes having a ton of features unlocked that much more satisfying. If it was easy to unlock all the features, I don't think I would like it very much.

Legacy is only killing Swtor if , BW gives it a higher priority to release then the stuff that will keep people sub'd.

Oh that's right, that's what happened in 1.2. All the fluff was PTS tested, then they wait for the last week to test ranked warzones and didn't get it done.

If they do that again for 1.3 and only get the legacy implemented instead of server mergers or transfer, You will be able to stick a fork in this game.

The original complaint that was being addressed was those of players who only like to have 1 character and not level a bunch of alts. I think that is a legitimate complaint and the fix was supposed to be that you could either get to a certain legacy level OR buy the perks with credits as an alternative. How did we end up with both on most of the items? Currently the only unlocks that work this way are the ones unlocked by leveling a certain class/race through chapter 2 or 3, not even based on legacy level.

My suggestion would be to set a price for each item and have it decrease by so much at each legacy level. Say the rocket boots cost 1 million credits with 0 legacy. How about it decreases by 25k each legacy level so it ends up being half price at legacy level 20 and free at legacy level 40. People who only level one character can just buy it outright and those who spend more time on alts can get it without the credit farming.
I have opinions and stuff

There is this game, and then there are other games. Other games being Guild Wars 2, The Secret World and Elder Scrolls online. None of these games are alike as far as how they play (at least to my limited knowledge) I've played the beta for Secret World. I'm impressed, although at this point in time, it is a bit clunky and rough around the edges with bugs and not very wonderful combat animations. I think it will do well, and I would play it except I play with my wife and she hates the x-files (a show I will love until I die), therefore, that will be out of the question. Guild Wars 2. That game is amazing looking, has a lot of potential to go down in history as one of the greatest mmo's ever made. I have not played the beta on that one. I will say this though. Prior to beta testing swtor, I was caught up in all the hype that was being put out about the game. Then when I got into beta, I was impressed by the story telling and the cut scenes...but that was it. Everything else has been done to death before, and it has far too much grind. To make a long story short, I see almost none of the beta testers of Guild wars 2 putting out much negativity toward that game. This game during beta..people were already sad that they had pre- ordered.
I've stuck with this game for a long time now and seen things being touted off in updates that tons of people in beta were screaming to be in the game before launch. Some of it was in beta and removed (like the match color to chest option) then added later as improved (which it is). I really don't see this game moving forward at a pace that is likely to make it the end all be all of mmo games. I don't see much innovation involved except the voice acting and cut scenes. Space is a joke when you really look at it, pvp is horribly directed as seen by the current uselessness of Ilum, and the way things have been itemized is a nightmare in pve. Legacy is just another money sink that is barely worth your time. I could go on, but I won't because deep down everyone here that has played any other mmo knows that this game is getting stagnant far sooner than it should have. I'm by no means a hard core player at all, but I think that having three lvl 50 characters is kinda on the quick side. (well two fifties and one that will be by the end of the week).
I love the idea of this game. I wanted to believe so hard that I would continue to love it long enough for me to want to keep playing, but I'm not seeing much in the way of things coming down the pipe that would interest me enough to want to stay for much longer. Sorry, didn't mean to rant. I'm not attempting to troll or aggravate anyone, I just wish they would pull their heads out of their butts and get it right so I wouldn't feel like I need to go play GW2 or any other game.
Good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun....
