I'm hoping that the more this thread fills up, the sooner BW will patch this issue.

The thing for me that I don't get is this:
--Audio is fine
-1.2 Content Update
--Ears are pierced with constant crackling and static, and many VOs cease to work
-1.2.0c: 'Corrected an audio issue that could cause a loud, perpetual "jet engine" sound that is most noticeable on the Republic and Imperial Fleets.'
--Audio still broken
-1.2.1: 'Corrected a sound issue that caused a loud, unintended sound on the Republic and Imperial Fleets (and potentially other areas with many characters present)'
--Audio still broken

...no further acknowledgement of audio issues. Are the devs taking the piss here?

Don't worry after 4 more weeks we'll ask you to repair your launcher again as we put a fix into the game and remove it from the known issues thread even though its not fixed. Thank you for time and understanding. Oh and please don't email George Lucas about this. We appreciate it.
SPOT ON!

Very clever

Saw this in the recent patch notes:

Quote:
Sith Inquisitor

General
•Lightsaber Charge's audio effects no longer loop indefinitely.
So I broke my hiatus to see if it was true.

Nope. Still does it.

Nice lie, try again.

I am victim of the soundbug too, now.
First encountered while questing on Voss.
The NPCs in the dialogues simply won´t speak at all, or speak only every 2nd or third sentence. Sometimes they speak, but do not move the lips. This situation is very annoying, a great deal of ingame pleasure goes down the sink when one is not able to follow the storyline in fully voice-over MMO.

(what does MMO stand for?? eh...misguided, misinformed, overpriced?)...hmmm.

I logged in today to see if they might just have patched this only to find they didn't even both to patch this week! LOL BW seems to want SWTOR to fail so they can move on to something else. Like turning DA3 into a FPS game that has no character leveling and you just fight wave after wave of mobs in the same room for 30 hours.

Already they have staff moving on to other projects while this game still has broken stuff as simple as sound not working the whole time you are playing.

For months I have been defending these guys but this is getting pretty darn old.

Its a good thing you're still 'enjoying' the annoying sound bugs (sarcasm intended), because by the looks of it, there is no intention of fixing it.

The fact that this bug has persisted so long is a terrible sign -- their coding infrastructure must be rotten if it allows a fundamental flaw like this to remained unfixed for so long. This is supremely embarrassing from a technical viewpoint, and Bioware should be ashamed of itself.

In ops again last night, no sound after about an hour. Coolies.

I really really hope they didn´t fire the only one capable of fixing this sound bug....

Oh, and that may explain the left out patch day....no staff to do the patching....I fear.

They are probobly waiting for 1.3 for a engine update that they hope will fix the sound issues.

Anyway for what it is worth - everyone in my guild has the sound bug.
