What I find comical in all of this is the fact that they're going to blame Mr. Reid for this ... when the fault resides on the shoulders of EA and the empty suits that think they know what they're talking about when it comes to quality gaming in today's MMO market.

So go ahead and point the fingers at everyone but yourselves EA ... because at the end of the day, it's your customer base that will speak the loudest and right now, the quality of your products has gone to <BLEEP>.

People weren't following the game via his twitter, they were following HIM...and honestly, I don't want to pretend to give a flying **edit** what he ate for breakfast or who sunk his battleship JUST so I can be kept apprised of this games development ...that's just weird to me.

Fact is, he DIDN'T do his job. He hadn't even logged on to THESE forums for a freaking week before yesterday.

I'm sure he's a wonderful man irl and a guy I'd enjoy having some beers with...but he wasn't a good fit for a game with 1.7 million subs at one time.
Yeah, seeing as how he RARELY posted ANYTHING personal on his twitter. In fact the ONLY REASON I HAVE A TWITTER is so I could follow him and keep up with things going on in the game. Get a clue, you cannot take twitter and Facebook out of anything in today's world. And if you'd ever even looked at his twitter you would know it was 95% or more devoted to nothing but SWTOR. Also if you'd looked he'd already explained his recent silence in that he was tied up in trying to get the Group Finder in game. Thanks for your support, now why do you pay money to be here again?

Rockjaw gave us all the information he could whenever he could.

If he couldn't handle THIS community, why would he have kept his job? Seriously. Why would it be a shock that he was let go if this was too much to handle? He was the freaking SENIOR COMMUNITY MANAGER. I don't care how 'mean' people can be, it was his job to be HERE. Stop feeling sorry for the guy and making excuses for his neglect of his job.

You joined in October 08, so you must have been around for when David Bass decided to have his twitter account for personal use right?

It was around that time Stephen Reid said his twitter is both Personal and Work related (Digging through his tweets now).

Seriously? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the COMMUNITY MANAGER's twitter will hold INFORMATION for his COMMUNITY about TOR. You heard more information from his twitter then the "Official" twitter page for TOR.

Rockjaw gave us all the information he could whenever he could. Sounds like you're the one with the inflated ego thinking you're entitled to know everything whenever you want to know it.
THANK YOU for proving my point!

Unless you followed his super secret twitter page and pretended to give a rats **edit** about his daily routine and witty comments, you didn't get the updates for the game you should have HERE...you know, HERE, the Bioware forums, where only PAYING customers of this product can post.

Any twit can twitter, only Biowares customers can post.

Those updates you received should have been information posted HERE! Not on twitter. THESE were the customers. THESE are who pay the bills. THESE are the people who were deprived of the information that MAY have saved accounts.

Thanks for in your own words, the very first ones in fact proving the poster you quoted: right. This is SWTOR not SWTwitter, if you aren't on the community forums and are in fact spending post of your time with the twitterazi you doing your job. The community is here, and sure a few things can break on twitter but when it replaces to forums for game updates something is very very wrong.
Relabeling future patches as Expansions, just like EA Louse said a year ago. Who got the last laugh?

I hope the next Community manager understands the importance of communicating to the player base using the "Community Forums " for the game..:P

Around but probably didn't care. Your point?! And could you please provide me with the official link to that twitter account?

They aren't laying people offer so they can hire new people and improve their company, they are laying people off because they don't want to spend extra money on a game that is losing many subscriptions.
