Well.....its really sad Bioware, 75 pages and still this stupid sound bug, maybe you need to tell your programmers and developers to actually LEARN to code... this is annoying as hell, needing to restart the client each time I get the bug, and having to use the security key EACH time...c'mon, fix this already!

Update: The static sound bug still comes around but it's still not as bad as it was before I did repair. VERY Annoying to say the least!

Have you tried updating your drivers?
Repairing the launcher?
Reinstalling the game?
Reinstalling windows and the game?
Can you run 6 hours worth of memtest86 for us please?
Can you please submit your msinfo32, dxdiag, launcher log & game log along with social security number and next of kin?
Don't worry after 4 more weeks we'll ask you to repair your launcher again as we put a fix into the game and remove it from the known issues thread even though its not fixed. Thank you for time and understanding. Oh and please don't email George Lucas about this. We appreciate it.

Same issue basically ruined an ops for us tonight. We all had to stop, quit the game, reload the client, just so we could get sound and hear the verbal cues for the boss's attacks. My drivers are up to date and my client has been repaied, now what???
When in doubt empty the magazine

I assume the reason this issue isn’t fixed yet is because support cant reproduce the problem. Can we could identify configuration setting which would workaround the issue until it is fixed?

I can reproduce the issue 100% of the time. What is different about our configuration or habits which cause the problem? (think outside patcher, audio driver, dxdiag, hardware, blah..)

My configuration:
Windows Mode, I have multiple monitors and I constantly change windows focus outside of SWTOR during my game session. Does the problem occur if you run with only 1 monitor and never change the window focus of the game?

Background audio, I have selected this option under preferences. I want to hear the game sounds in Windows even if my focus is not on the SWTOR window. Does problem occur on system which are only using this new setting?

Sound configuration, I have my speakers configured as 5.1 Dolby Digital. Does the issue occur to people using stereo 2.1 configuration?

any other ideas? It seem like we are on our own to identify a solution as support is languishing here...

Since the last patch, they once again can not be hardly heard and still do not hum more loudly as you run with them active.

This has nothing to do with our sound cards, has nothing to do with our driver versions, it has to do with the patches. EVERYONE in my guild shares this same issue. Very upsetting this is not in the "Known Issues" list.
THANK YOU!! I've had this series of lightsaber sound bugs (among a ton of other sound bugs) since open beta and I honestly thought I was the only one with this issue. Now I know it's not my computer... again, thank you for making me not feel so alone here.

Still, that doesn't really remedy my frustration I'm having with Bioware's inability to fix a progressing bug this late into the game's launch. It's quite simply ridiculous and I'm just plain sick of it. All the little bugs, that are not especially game breaking but make me want to pull my hair out... yeah, come on Bioware. I love this game. I love you! But I haven't touched it in about a week and a half!! It's just painful to play it now. It's very, very sad... :{

no patch this week means no fix for the sound issues...

At least the free month is up soon, then we can all express our opinions on the issue with the cancel button.
