Am I spoiled by my previous MMO?

That's probably true. Certain features are more important to the community than others. It's just hard, sometimes, to tell what those features are. Did you even see the outcry from this community when it was announced there would be no swimming? Tens of thousands of posts crying about it. Would you say it's a top feature or not?

Sure.

Every game has strengths and weaknesses, but some games are able to deal with their weaknesses by providing features that lessen the impact. For example, SWTOR has been suffering--for some time now--in the server population department; this problem could have been made less irritating had the game provided players with more incentives to group (better loot tables for trash mobs in flashpoints, etc) and tools to make grouping/socializing easier (LFG tool and full-featured guild tools)--even on less populated servers. But because SWTOR lacks these things, the population problem is multiplied.

SWTOR is in the awkward position where the game doesn't help itself; it provides a strong single-player experience--this compounds the population problem. PVP has been reduced to repeatable warzones for the foreseeable future--another issue which compounds the population problem.

The official forums on any mmo are always full of vitriol and second guessing. If you want to be happy with any game you're playing, avoid the official forums.

The way I read this, your issue is with the way the feedback is provided and not the content of the feedback. Correct? Either way the root of the problem remains the same. Both are constructive since both adress the same problem and offer the same solution.

What infuriates me are the people that pretend that there is no problem. Regardless if you enjoy the game or not, you must notice that the population is in decline. Does this spell doom and gloom and the end of the world? Certainly not. But from my experience with MMOs, things can go south VERY fast if the developers don't adjust their game.

Players have access to the developers making and shaping the games they enjoy. Developers have the ear of the players who play their games, and have access to a wealth of first-hand insight into how their game works and plays. You don't seem to understand how this works...

Your issue isn't that people are unhappy or dissatisfied; your issue is that you--while being happy and content (but posting, not playing)--have to read posts by people who are dissatisfied. You would rather silence criticism behind the tired banner of "you don't have to be here, move along." Sorry, but welcome to MMOs--and the internet.

Have you read the forums? Do you know how many posts there are that threaten to unsub or move on to another game if this or that is not added, or added by a certain date? That sure sounds a lot like "give the aforementioned to me now or else"

Welcome to MMO's and the internet? Is that where the whiners and entitled people live? Welcome to the real world, populated by mature adults who accept that they might not always get what they want.

Thanks, but tried it and we didn't like it - the whole split-screen thing and silly console controls. Besides, it's not Star Wars - that is what keeps us playing this game (tried the free WoW trial and she couldn't get into it).
