I don't think anyone denies that most of the issues people complain about are real problems. We're just more patient. Especially when they've already acknowledges the problem and have confirmed that they're working on it.

Also, you're talking about waiting for the finished product? The finished product was released 7 months ago after years and hundreds of millions of dollars.

How much more time should we give them? 5 years? 10?
This your first MMO? Because they are always works in progress and never finished. So, no, the finished product was not released 7 months ago, it will always be evolving.

So the rationale as to why SWTOR is a viable MMO that shouldn't be so openly complained about despite shoddy graphics (no high resolution textures at all), a complete lack of diverse endgame content, craptastic 4 warzone PvP, ugly armor designs, painted humans with squiggles on their faces as the only "alien" options, horrible bugs such as killer elevators and companions that don't look or function properly (disappearing heads and ranged combatants who run directly toward mobs), and empty servers, thus making it a true embarrassment... is that some day it will leave vanilla and will get better?

The problem we "haters" have is that we have woken up to the fact that you can keep applying layers of makeup and lipstick to a pig, but it will remain a pig, because that's what it is. We feel like we've invested time in something that bills itself as "good entertainment", yet it fails to deliver "good entertainment" once you get past all the fluff that blinds you for the first month or so.

I possess patience in abundance. I'm more than happy to unsub from this game and wait until they fix it if it comes to that.

And so when it doesn't go f2p, will you be forced to admit it is successful?

And shouldn't you be playing D3? Oh, that's right, servers down and the game sucks. After 12 hours, someone has already beat the game.

Nice. Avoid responding to what I've said, particularly the end, and just 1-liner it.

Ugh, I'm not even one of the doomsayers but this post still irks me. So those who are upset are not rational? They are not rational because they want the best out of their investment? How rational is that? Just because you are okay with everything going on does not mean the next person should be since you know...he/she is not you.

The game has faults. Many say the biggest issue is the low populations. Well folks they got those low populations for a reason. Because there are other existing issues. You don't lost the amount of people they have and it's just merely about the low population servers. If you continually ignore those issues then they will never be addressed and there will continually be folks either leaving the game or not really interested in joining it. Like it or not, the words from the so called 'haters' are as much needed as those folks label 'fanboys' for a game to progress and this game needs progress.

I am more in the middle ground personally. I don't hate the game but nor do I love it. It does nothing to truely hold me except for the fact nothing is out at this time to take me away. At least not yet. So I am still playing it but I see the issues and won't go blindly thinking 'Oh everything is ok! Just give it time!' It's been six months and some of things implemented are things most agree should have been there for launch. Yes, MMO's are always evolving but for many it feels like ToR is playing catch up as if it was released too soon just to make that Christmas sales rush.

I use to argue with those doomsayers but now I just stand a neutral ground. Why? Because they have reason to voice their opinion. It's their money and time and all of those are vital. If you are having issues with your investment then voice it. If you are not, then stay happy and smiling. But don't tell someone else they are not rational or impatient. They handle it their way and you handle it yours.

After playing SWtOR for a full week trying out the starting points and some further content on various classes has given me quite a bit of a feel for this game. I honestly love the design. The idea of giving people the chance to play as their favorite role from an (in my opinion) amazing story is perfect. However, the design is indeed lacking. This, im sure, will be gradually fixed as time goes on. Just like in WoW, nothing was ever really perfect and even today, there are still many issues that disconcerts all kinds of players.

We need to be more patient with this game. Sure, some issues go unanswered, but there is only so much the developers can do in the time they have available to them. Personally, I think the starting locations should be race-based and not class-based. That is definitely going to get boring fast. Playing to enjoy the story is great, and personally, i think its perfect. However, end-game content should be just as abundant. If all level 50s have is a few "raids and instances" we are not going to want to sit on our 50s doing nothing. Thus where the starting points come in to play. Of course, all my informations is coming from what ive read here as well as researched.

Some ideas i have:
Starting locations by race. Possibly other force/non-force classes (fighter pilots?). The ability to choose what kind of starter ship you want rather than having them be class-based as well as the ability to purchase and upgrade ships to different hull types. Achievements - i know this is quite common, but honestly it is something to pass the time for higher level players. Build and reverse engineer droids - maybe build your own droid companion? I think that would be fun. Pod racing could inspire a completely different tier of end game content. I have a few other ideas, but ill end here.

Hopefully i get some agreements here, but im also looking for some criticism. Ideas?
I'll be patient, if you pay my subscription.
