Never. Not once. Not a single time in those four years of trawling the WoW forums, did I ever see this level of negativity displayed universally across virtually every thread that gets posted. Not during Wrath, not during BC, not during Cata, not during the Swifty debacle.
I guess you missed the vanilla forums then.

Vanilla Warcraft was so shoddy and so pointless that the forums were literally burning down. Almost every thread was a quit thread, because when people realized there was no endgame and PvP was pointless, the game almost blew up completely. Blizzard got it together, and after BC, there was more love.

Can BW pull the same miracle and turn vanilla failure into first expansion gold?

Well, time will tell. For now, things suck.

I did miss the vanilla forums, and while reading that does give me a smidge of renewed confidence, I'm sure it will be blasted away by the time I've waited in queue for an hour after work today.

Like me, you're actually on a pretty populated server. Other than the forum negativity, what issues are you personally having? Just burnt out on end game/alting?

As positive as I normally am, I do feel for people like you that are playing on light servers. I started out on "The Courageous" and I couldn't find a group to save my life. And good luck EVER getting a Warzoen to pop...

Hopefully those transfers get here soon.

Im not looking for fights are fumers, but simply input towards these issues. I understand how these frustrations impact your gameplay, but seriously if you dont like it then dont pkay it. If you did everything you could to rectify a problem and had no success, move on. This game is still in the works and we are here judging a palette of colors and effects before they can make it to the canvas for a portrait of exhilerating beauty. I have high hopes for this game and with how well Bioshock went under Bioware (as well as Dragon Age) im sure theere is a lot we can expect to be fulfilled.
Don't sweat the haters too much, Rohgur. I've been with the game since the beginning and although I absolutely agree that there are several problems that need to be resolved as quickly as possible to bring the game back to a "Massively Multiplayer" status, to read some of these posts, you'd think that Bioware and EA had eaten their kittens.

They don't know how to be constructive in their criticism, they only know how to flamewar.

That being said, the server population problem is a primary problem that needs to be treated with absolute urgency and not left to the vague response of "early summer" for a solution. It's unacceptable for many (if not MOST) of the subscribers.

The LFG tool will hopefully relieve some of the steam on this pressure cooker, but it's NOT a fix. In my own opinion, the primary things the game needs is transfers, mergers and sidekicking.

The sidekicking (or mentoring) system will allow subscribers to bring in their friends in a way that the established characters can play alongside the new toons and not affect their XP, etc. A lack of a mentoring system is what keeps the more casual gamers from staying with an MMO. If you mainly want to play in order to "play with your friends" above all else, then sidekicking is absolutely VITAL to keeping and bringing in new subscriptions.

It's the reason i stopped playing Warcraft although SO many of my friends play. They have maxed out their character slots with 50s and cannot play alongside with me without either killing all the mobs for me (eliminating MY playing the game) or screwing up the amount of XP I get if they team with me.

This game is just like Albert Pujols (thus far).

$200+ million spent and very little production.

That's the issue, there is no excuse. The biggest budget for an MMO ever. They had the money, they had the resources, they had the time, they claimed to have the devs and management to execute this project, and they still give us a "Beta" release,. As a paying customer, that is not acceptable to me, and I won't tolerate it. I hang around in hopes that this game will eventually resolve the biggest issues because like you, the first week I played I thought this was the most fun I have had playing a video game in years. Then is all became clear to me at 1.2......

Actions speak louder than words, but there is very little of both from EA/BioWare.

I hope this game goes F2P if only so that the same handful of people who tirelessly and illogically refute even the most valid criticisms will be forced to admit that the game failed....

....On second thought, I'd bet they would even deny it then.

"F2P is not a failure guise!"

They would just tell you that it's been in the plans all along.

It was all part of Bioware's devious ingenius plan of turning the game into a cash shop.

It was our fault for not seeing this happening, and it's our fault for being upset, if we had only paid attention to the signs we would have seen it coming.

And if we don't like it theres the door.

Basically what we're being told now.

So, you'd rather be right about the game dying than it becoming something great? And yet we're illogical?

Also, if it did go F2P, you wouldn't see anything out of me because I'd be gone the same day.

I never said the game was dying, I said I want it to go F2P if only so that some of the people who refuse to acknowledge the problems would be forced to admit it failed - and even then I have my doubts.
