You may speak for yourself, but you don't speak for a majority of players, unless you have some evidence that supports that you do.

You know, I appreciate the spirit of the post. After a week of SWTOR, I felt the same way.

"Who are these doomsayers and attention-seeking morons who just want to plaster the forums with troll posts and hate? Good game is good. It's fun and it's in vanilla, so it has so many ways that it can improve over time."

Honestly, go back through my history. I used to be a fairly positive guy.

Then I got to the end... and I was suddenly and abruptly exposed to all the reasons why people have serious problems with SWTOR. I saw how repetitive the endgame was. I watched my server population dwindle. I saw that PvP was limited and was going nowhere fast. I saw guild after guild empty out. I saw people who genuinely wanted to enjoy this game, but couldn't any more... and I became one of them.

"Be patient" is easy to say when you've been here for a week. I invite you to try to see things the same way after you have had time to absorb this game's countless deficiencies. You will find it difficult.

Okay...I get tired of people saying we need to be patient knowing full well a large majority of us have had patience. Example of my patience here would be the fact that I had poor customer service. I had just finished my class quest on Voss and it had suddenly disappeared. FYI this was back in February. The class quest was NOT in my quest LOG. So I could not reset it, I could not pick it up from somebody nor could I start a conversation related to it ANYWHERE.

I checked out every possible solution that I could do myself and found no answers. So, I decided to send in a ticket and Bioware responded appropriately at first. The key word being at first. They had no idea how to fix it so they escalated it. When they did they asked me a certain number of questions to which I replied in detail. They could not resolve and escalated again.

Again I got the same questions and again I answered down to the tiniest of details. Still no solution. This went on for about a WEEK until I finally gave up. You know what I did then? I deleted the character. flamed a little (and had every right to do so), then sucked it up and moved on. I have spent several months thinking, "Hey this will get better with time." But no my server died and i started over AGAIN on a new server.

I do not even want to begin on the list of bug fixes unsolved, the new ones they cause trying to fix the useless bugs that effects hardly anything (The missing matrix cubes we so kindly had to deal with another maintenance day for), the lack of communication to the community and the poor customer service. So please stop asking for patience we are hitting the 6 month marker soon with little to no improvement.

The only valid excuses that are out the window would be, they are new to MMO's which is false and the second would be that MMO's are fresh to the gaming world and they are NOT. MMO's have been around for years now and so they have plenty of things to use as prime examples of what mistakes NOT to make.

TL;DR: I had the patience with a missing class quest that never got fixed because the customer service and tech support are poor. It has been almost six months, Half a year for those who do not get that this is a VERY lengthy time period to get their stuff in order. Too many major bugs are still around and new ones come with every minor one that is fixed. So being patient has gone and past it is time we start getting the proper services and not a bunch of Dev's bragging about themselves and bashing their own community.

You assumed that im inexperienced to the frustrations that everyone in this game at level 50 is feeling.

I states that ive only been pkaying a week because i wanted my responses to be lookes at as someone who has experiencce in playing MMOs, but just not this game entirely. I know the frustrations and i understand the lack of support, but what im trying to get at is that we are (as stated by a reply) still in vanilla. Its creamy goodness is there for learning experience. Im sure in the end (and i dont mean 6 months after its release date) this game will be just as flourished as WoW used to be. It has potential and i can see it easily outranking other MMOs as it already does.

Stop using the "ive only played a week" against me as that wasnt the point of this post. Ive dont my research and ive read the haters' posts. This game is wonderful in many aspects, but you cant expect it to go from vanilla to polished overnight or even in 6 months. There is trial and error that needs to be accounted for as well as the opinions of every single subscriber; not just you.

Why?

Seriously, do you have anything to support this in terms of solid evidence that SWTOR will eventually catch up to Warcraft in content, support, and subscriber numbers? Or is that just wishful thinking?

I was hoping that Conan would get polished and catch up. I was also hoping the same for LOTRO. It never happened. That's when I realized that just because Blizzard got it's act together, it doesn't mean all companies and their games will follow the same path to glory. It's just not realistic.

We're paying for a multiplayer experience not a monthly payment for an RPG experience. Patience only goes so far. For my it's 6 months. That's more than enough time to fix bugs and deploy basic tools that other MMO's have. If they can't meet that then I'll find another game to fill my time and take my $15 a month. It's too bad as well since I'm tired of the sword and board mmo's.
MIght want to re-review your terms of service for the game. Nowhere do they guarantee any particular persons desired experience. Not even yours. In fact, most box labels for MMOs will state that game experience will vary in game. The do not guarantee you a particular experience, they give you access to their game. You either like it or you don't. And, it requires some effort and intiative on your part to adjust to whatever game play experience there is in game, OR LEAVE the game.

I understand what you're saying. What we're saying is that we all felt that way when we were in your shoes, too! It's kinda like an adult telling a teenager about highschool - they've been there, done that. The teenager usually responds with, "You don't know how it is for me!" Then, years later, they are the adult trying to talk sense into a teenager.

Your feelings on the game after a week are natural and wonderful! I hope you get years and years of enjoyment out of it. However, saying that patience is needed when you have shown none seems a bit silly. When you've been 50 for a month or so, let us know how you feel then. Or don't... more than likely, most of us won't be here anymore.
