Merc healers when played well are still the hardest healers to kill in the game.

With that said...

I think Mercs could stand a looking at... I am no expert in the class though... Other classes are fine even they cry QQ a lot, Mercs might have some beef that is reasonable... They dont SUCK but they are hardly noticeable in pvp in seems...

My performance in pvp wildly varies on the pug groups I am in... Just depends on healing... Thats why when someone cries for a Mara Nerf... I cringe a little... I mean I played Carnage pre 1.1 and even respecced back in to it (I know I like pain)... I have had days were I had 55 kills and 2 deaths, I have had days were my kills and deaths royally sucked....

Yes, my butt stays near healers if they heal LOL...

Also, if a dps is out on his own without heals, they're going to find that their dps drops significantly because they are dead.

The solution is simple, just stick near a tank, ask them for guard....and profit. Or don't and be fodder, I don't care.
Actually i am asking for the opposite. My main is a 50 marauder. Sometimes i like to change it up and play a healer. When i do WZ's one of my first targets are, yep you guessed it sorcs/ sages just to clear them out. I parked my sorc right after 1.2 after 7 days of trying to heal in wz's. I am sure you enjoy being able to global a healer but in the long term they need help

If you are capable of escaping any foe and never needing to rely on your team for help, you might as well just drop the tanks and stack more dps.

I see nothing wrong with at the beginning of a pug WZ you ask whos a tank and if you can get guarded. I often will call out in pug WZs to see who is heals and gravitate towards them for the teams sake.

This is a team game, you have to learn to work with others to shore up your classes weaknesses.
After following this thread and playing a Sorc healer myself, I first thought you were being trollish but as I continued to read on you do bring up many good points. Too many to list at this point but I just wanted to let you know that your views are pretty accurate and it's just a tough pill to swallow for some I think.

Heals pre 1.2, for Sorc anyways, weren't just OP they made pvp boring, only in my opinion. Now, with the nerfs I have faced, I actually enjoy pvp. The reason I enjoy it more now is because there is actually something for me to do whereas before I'd just stand there and heal for a LOT of health and both factions would just stand there hitting each other repetitively to no avail, hell I was practically impossible to kill even with 3 people on me, I'd just run around and keep healing myself....it was almost laughable.

Now, MUCH more coordination goes into pvp as a Sorc Healer I think. But this doesn't mean it doesn't take as MUCH coordination for the entire team as well. I don't think the issue is with healers, from my experience on my dead server, I think the issue comes from the lack of coordination from those who don't seem to have been affected in pvp all that much, the DPS. Tanks now realize they love having that healer with them, for medals mostly , and healers love having that tank, to survive....who do the dps love other than themselves? My successful games come from a tank guarding me, me keeping the tank up and the dps keeping other dps off me while we are doing the objective. When this coordination is in full affect, a game is hardly lost unless the other team is doing the same thing. I know, I'm making a broad generalization but I have to tell ya, from my pvp experience so far in this game as a Sorc healer, the only games I exceed 500k post 1.2 are the ones where people realize the importance of their groups compilation. This is a learned behavior, I do not expect all PUGS to pick up on it when they just want to spam buttons and see numbers with all disregard to "winning". That could be part of Biowares fault for putting such emphasis on medals and the way the medals are laid out, but that's topic for another forum I think.

Not all groups you will get put with will work out, at least on my server due to it being on it's way out. Hell, it's beginning to get to the point where the only time I see a tank on my pvp team is when I que up with one myself. I personally embrace the changes they have made to try and even things out for pvp. There are other aspects that still need work, but I am one Sorc you will not here complaints from. I enjoy the game and realize the limitations to making everyone happy. It isn't a L2P, it's more of a THIS IS HOW IT IS....for me on a server plunging to extinction, pvp is not as fun as it was a month ago, but there are still about 40-50 of us that still duke it out regularly and I enjoy almost every minute of it, at least when I have a tank with me But that doesn't discourage me from pvping without one, I still have no issues putting up 400k-500k without a tank....that doesn't mean we win tho...

I care about winning and everyone else here seems to put numbers in front of you....coordination trumps numbers!

Understood. I leveled in carnage pre 1.2 but after hit 50 and doing pvp it fast became evident i had to switch. I prefer carnages playstyle but you have to survive. Most healers ive seen lately are in premades and usually ignore pug players unless they are ball carriers in huttball. Shrug. Since bio seems to be happy with pvp in its current state i will probably finish leveling my operative for legacy and move on to something else or maybe go back to wow for mists. Didnt think i would but least i can get back to arenas.

I think another balance pass is certain, I dont think it will be where people are thinking (like nerfing classes to oblivion)... I also think they need to get some other things done like ranked WZ, either server mergers or cross server WZ's, and couple of other things. They need to add more WZ's too and let players have an "Opt Out" for WZ's they dont like (which people would have to wait longer to queue up)...

The issue at hand is simple. If your going to create a situation where a player must que with another player to effectively do their job. Then make it so for all classes. Dps should be glass cannons. Take all defensive cds from them where they are forced to roll with a healer.make all tanks abilities be connected to standing next to a heaaler.

Yeah doesnt sound fun does it.

However, what you need to realize is that this was *TWO* competent premade groups (one rep, which I was a part of, one imp).

How the numbers got so inflated is that the Imp team had very coordinated tank/heals, and our team wasn't taking much damage because they were so focused on healing. The result: the WZ ground to a total halt and no one could be killed. Look how few deaths are recorded.

This to me says that an intelligent group can still make healers absolute GODS in PvP. And like Olhen, all I have to say to you is: GET A TANK AND L2P!
Your post proves nothing.

1) The Imperials had 4 very competent healers and the Republic team had, by far, the lion's share of the DPS. This sets up a perfect storm whereby the Imperial healers can cross-heal each other and their team and the Republic DPS attacks and attacks but can't break through. What does this leave? Inflated healing and damage numbers.

I can guarantee you that had the Imperial team had only one or two healers, that Sorcerer's numbers would have been much less. In other words, it was the other healers, not the tanks, that made the difference. Just look at many times the top Republic healer died.

2) And that Civil War score also shows another thing: the match was longer than 15 minutes. Close CW matches such as this are usually around 20 to 21 minutes (I was actually once in a 25 minute 5 to 0 CW match). That's 5 to 6 more minutes of healing, almost half of a normal WZ.
