LEGACY & TRANSFERS: tell me it's not true!

Ok folks, that's what I heard: when we will be able to transfer, transferring your characters on a server with a brand new legacy make the old one to enter this legacy and all your old levels are gone. They told me your toons will mantain the bonuses acquired, but, I repeat, all your levels are gone.
Now: I have 5 toons on Kai-Kan, 2 of them are 50s. My legacy level is 30. When I realized that my server had no hope for coming back to life I rerolled a toon on Legions of Lettow, a mid populated server where, I suppose, they will allow me to move my characters.
What i ask is: really if I move my toons here I will lose my legacy levels? If yes, it's really a mess and BW is condemning itself to death, if no, I apologise for the inconvenience.

No...the higher legacy will be the one to take over, when transfer if you have a lower legacy level on another sever.

I am not too sure about that. I myself am a little confused on how that is going to work. From what I understand is that, from the guild summit when discussing the APAC transfers, that your higher of the 2 legacies would take over.

How does this work for things like ship droid/ship auction house?

I have 20 million credits, 3 50s, and most of the legacy unlocks (legacy 30)

If this is true, this game is over for me forever seeing as my Server is dead.

It's quoted and confirmed in the podcast. The highest Legacy will take over, and will be transferable.

Why would you listen to what they said months ago instead of what they DID weeks ago??

We know that our community is concerned about how their Legacy levels will be affected by the upcoming server transfers. Here is what Lead Game Designer Daniel Erickson had to say the most recent Weekly Q&A:

RKLimes: I recall a developer post indicating the results of transferring a character with a Legacy from one server onto another where a Legacy also exists, the highest level legacy would simple be applied rather than added. Since higher Legacy level does not necessarily equal greatest number of Legacy unlocks, will any and all unlocks be granted from either Legacies, or only those of the highest?

Daniel: Legacies will be merged in the most advantageous possible way for the player. They’re your rewards, you earned them, we don’t want to prevent you from moving them wherever you like. So any unlocks gained by the character you’re moving will come with that character, even if the Legacy they are moving into is a lower level.
We hope this gives you a little insight on the matter. Thank you!

That Quote from Daniel makes it sound like the legacy level you end up with is the one you have on the server your transferring to BUT you get to keep all your high level legacy unlocks from your old server... Meaning that it does seem you will lose legacy levels transferring to a new server but not your unlocks. Now this could just be misunderstanding of his statement and I hope it is because it seems like it wouldn't be that hard to increase one's legacy level to the higher of the two...
F2P is like driving on a long stretch of highway with toll booths every 1/2 mile

Well the quote from the dev is what I heard: you keep your unlocks but your levels are lost for the new lower one....... THAT SUX BAD!!!! Now I know I have to move all my toons on a different server with no legacy, this means I'm wasting my time again...... I think you are really trying tu push customers away.
