Same gender relationships clarifications?

Doc is the only reason I'm putting off rolling my female Jedi Knight but when SGR's arrive... Kira <3

Been lurking through this and similar threads for some time now.
For now I've chosen not to subscribe to the game for a longer period, because the sgra are not there yet.

I really want to be able to romance Vette with my female Sith Warrior and Akaavi with my female smuggler and I want romance options for my other female chars as well, but that's just me and my preference for playing female chars in RPG's.

Much, much more important is that anybody regardless of gender or sexual preference (not english, so I don't know if the term is the appropriate) should be able to have an agreeable romance in the game, if he/ she wants to.

I believe BW when they say they'll implement it in the future, lthough they have done some awkward thing s in regards to sgr's in their other games (like changing Kaidan and Ashley's romance options, so that same gender romance was not possible in ME1 and the same with Miranda in ME2), but I would really like to see some sort of timetable and some more facts about whether there will be new same gender romance-options for existing companions.

I know all of this has probably been asked/ said a million times, just wanted to add my voice to the fold.

Oh yeah, I understand that...I'm careful with my female Agents too...though from what I've heard, there's a hell of a lot less het flirts for female Agents than male so it's easier for me. I think the only serious option for her is Vector but I haven't been glitched into a romance with him yet (yay!)

I'm at the point where I'm just not interested in playing some class stories (like, Smuggler) unless there's a SGRA option I like (in that case, Risha). I played a bit of the Smuggler story but wasn't all that impressed. Now, Agent on the other hand, I will play that regardless (with the toon I consider to be my 'main') because I find it awesome.

I think it will be a combo of both old and new companions....the old ones will come in the patch and new ones will come with future expansions.

That's my guess.

Oh lord I could gush about the IA storyline all day. Hooked from day one.

And yes, the flirts in the male storyline were ridiculous at times. It was like...at least one per planet! I was gutted in particular that females got to flirt with Saganu... but not my poor male agent. He was deeply disappointed let me tell you.

Well my JK is with Doc, but I really want the ability to hook my male warrior up with Pierce. I can't recall holding off for romance option reasons as of yet. I haven't actually engaged many romances at all.

I wonder then if they'd get all the conversations at once then, or if the affection meters can be reset.

Is Pierce a romance? I thought he was just a fling type deal?

I've done none so I really have no idea on the quality of them in general...I hope they are decent.

Any would be nice for those that have already leveled....I'm still going to hold off on playing some toons just in case you have to start from the beginning to get this content.

Full romance. It's got my female warrior in a tizzy because she's halfway through Quinn's and suddenly Pierce comes along and it's all 'hel-lo sailor.'

But then, I see potential SGRs in all sorts of weird places. Even some of Jadus' lines struck me off-balance. Probably his delivery but his lines always creeped with 'I want to do strange things to you' vibes.

I know I'm re-rolling a new agent in the near future, possibly sniper though I'm so used to op now it might be a bit offputting. Espcially lack of act one healer.

But I still haven't played BH cause I want some fem!BH SGR.

I just wanted to clarify that Pierce is only a fling and not a full romance as of this time. You get one fade to black scene and nothing else. My 50 is a SW and trust me, I was very unhappy when I found that out. I'm hoping the story update that contains SGR romances will also open up more options for OGR as well. It would be nice if all the female player characters and male characters can get 2 LIs apiece.

Personally I'm hoping for Quinn, Corso, Vector, and with a little luck, Talos.

It'll be interesting to see who, and how, this is implamented. Either way I'm ready to re-roll all of my current characters, if that's what it takes.

Besides re-rolling is fun, it's interesting to see the story again, even if I make the same choices.

Was wondering, what makes all of you think it will be the companions we already have? I mean, the amount of work is huge. And since new companions were promised (in a distant future) is not it more logic make some of them SGR?

I can't speak for everyone, but for me, it's simple logic. Creating SGRs for the current companions would require writing up the new dialogues, recording them with the voice actors, and putting together the scenes. It's a significant amount of work, true, but it's something that can be handled by just the writers.

Creating a new companion who's available for SGRs would not only require all of the above, but would require all the writing and dialogue and scenes for everything a character might do after acquiring that companion, which is a ton more work. New companions also mean work for the artists, both 2D and 3D, as well as programming for their abilities and such. This is a ton more work than just adding new romance scenes.

Also, BioWare has said SGRs are coming in the story patch, which is coming this year. Adding two new companions for every class - one of each gender, of course - would be an immense amount of work for a patch. At the guild summit, BioWare's people also said they knew who they wanted to have for SGRs, so it makes sense they'd be talking about current companions, since they said they wanted to have SGRs with characters that it made sense to do.
