Same gender relationships clarifications?

I would like to see an NPC as a same sex option from the class story line.

For example playing my female agent it would be nice to see her be able to be with kaliyo, but I want to be able to have it with Watcher 2. She seems like Bioware and EA tried to make her another Romance option but stopped for unknown reasons.

Let me know what you all think and name one you would like to see implemented when the Same sex options come available

I would really really like her as an option too...but on the other hand, I expect this patch will just be for companions.

Basically, I'm keeping my hopes pretty low for this

If the Imperial Agent is the Star Wars version of James Bond, then Watcher 2 is Moneypenny. He never got with her. She's just there for some suggestive flirting.

But we are talking about Jane Bond and not James here, so that doesn't count

It's the same basic thing, regardless of gender. Watcher 2 is Moneypenny. She's the girl at work that you flirt with, but that's it. You know better than to get your money and your honey in the same place. At least, that's Bond's take on it.

tbh I think my agent was too busy eyeing up that Fixer.... that's my headcanon and I'm sticking with it.

The smuggler route really that arrow-straight? I hadn't heard about that. It's a shame really. Especially since my headcanon has a truly wonderful snarky-bromance between the agent and the smuggler cause, y'know, mirror images and all that.

I do wonder how quickly they'll start rolling out these updates now. As eager as I am for SGR I could stand to wait a while for proper implementation. Not a slur on BW or anything I just don't want it to cross wires and bring about weird glitches.... like getting auto-locked into one of the het romances by accident... or locking the unwilling into SGRs, which would kick up all sorts of fuss.

Don't ruin my delusional fantasy!

I'm sure they'll be extra careful concerning the latter. I don't know how common it is to get locked into an unwanted romance now. I don't see many complaints about it, so they must have done a good job with that.

I've never heard any glitches where you were locked into a het romance by pursuing a SGR. That would suck, but I think the odds of that happening are pretty much zero.

Yeah I know, it's just me being paranoid.

I'm bizarrely protective of my IA. My only lvl 50. My main. My guy-lovin' blue secret-agent-man! So the mere idea of being locked into anything is like....do not want.

But I reckon BW will do a good job. They have a rep for doing good romances after all. Of course I am madly speculating about what the SGR could be. If they're existing comps or new people, and if they're new people what'll they be like? Tingling with anticipation!

Suppose now is as good a time as any to de-lurk! I've been following the thread since it first poped up, and as you might as imagine, I'm 100% for it. I want to romance Corso on my male Smuggler, but I'm prepared to wait if it means quality content. ^^

On one other note, playing the male Smuggler and not clicking a single flirt option wasn't that bad. I didn't feel like I was forced into any of the romances, nor did I feel like my character was written to be straight.

Welcome to the thread, both of you! Always good to see new faces around here.

It's good to see people still believe BioWare can and will produce quality content for this; we had some naysayers before, why I don't know. BW's not perfect, of course, but I've never been disappointed in their romance storylines. And with TOR being a MMO, the romance plots can go on for quite a while; it'll be great to see things develop over time and across expansion packs.

As for the male smuggler, I'm glad it didn't affect you negatively, Lasmin, but I know there's a ton of [Flirt] prompts when playing a male character. I can see why some people would just get tired of seeing them, and I'd imagine it would suck to want to play a gay male Smuggler and not have a chance to be one but still have all these chances to flirt with women. Hopefully the story patch will bring in same-gender flirt options as well; BioWare hasn't mentioned that. But, it's a minor thing.

One thing I am looking forward to with SGRs is, admittedly, conflicts between romanceable companions. On my male Smuggler, I just today got the conflict between Risha and Akaavi that happens if you try to romance them both. And it was hilarious. Brief, but awesome. There's going to have to be quite a bit of this when SGRs hit, and I'm wondering: does romancing a companion just to get the conflict scene and then shut them down make me a bad person? Though from what I've heard about Doc, I don't think I'd feel bad about my JK getting to shut him down as hard as possible, and in favor of Kira to boot...
