!
It 'could' ruin aspects of the community. Currently there is some merit in making friends with those in game that can help you out. Know a healer at a similar level for example. You group up once, add him to your friends list as you may need him in the future. With a LFG tool you may be more inclined to just assume you'll pick up one as and when you need it, so the forming of social connections 'could' be less likely as people become easily interchangeable.

Not that there aren't a lot of good reasons for the LFG tool. Makes no difference to me as I group 99% in guild.

If people cared that much about their server community, they'd continue it on after a Cross-Server LFD came about.

But they don't. They don't bother with it anymore. What does that tell you? That the Group Finder uses evil voodoo or that people don't actually care that much about community?

We already have a LFG tool for PvP warzones. It's the same thing really, you enter a queue, the game finds other people and a warzone and off you go. Same as it will be for FP's.

Imagine having to form your own group using only general chat for every warzone! I'm sure no one would like that. How then can anyone be opposed to a LFG tool for FP's?

1. You sit still on the fleet station and occasionally spam the general channel with DPS LFG whatever. While doing this, you are pretty much limited to sit around and get your *** bored to oblivion, maybe jump to a warzone or two when no one is responding, no dailies, no nothing. For people with work, who need to "make money" themselves and not wait for their parents to give them some, it is a waste of their -already limited - free time.

2. You flag yourself with the BWs current utterly useless LFG "tool", add a comment and wait. The problem is, that this isn't even a tool and I guarantee, that there are loads of people who doesn't even know about this "tool" being there.

Now, how would it look with the LFG tool? Again, numbers so troglodytes can see what I mean:
1. I open up a LFG window
2. I choose a Flashpoint I want to do
3. I choose my role
4. I click "start"
5. I continue playing and doing whatever I was - without wasting my godamn time!
6. I found the group
7. I can use a quick travel option to the Carrick station or I travel there myself
8. ME = a happy subscriber

People who think of some bizzare things to justify the lack of LFG tool are probably the ones, who do the flashpoints regularly with their RL friends who play this game aswell or guildies and they just dont want to make it easier for everyone, they want to be "elite". LFG tool destroying community? B.Please...

Right now I'am not doing any flaspoints with my alt (lvl 20ish) because of the "waste time" factor and I bet they will keep on loosing subs because of it.
I actually just found the existance of this tool a few days ago and i've been playing from January!. A good server lfg tool will surely help, as will the ability to teleport at the flashpoint/operation starting point so that you can do what ever you are doing and as soon as a group gets together you can go fast and start it.

I play with my rl friends and guildies so i can guarantee we are not the ones arguing against it.

What we need is not more short cuts but everything out in the open world.
I would approve of this if it didn't take ages to actually just get to a planet..
They really should've made the worlds much smaller and faster to load, Then I'd be okay with being forced to go to i.e Hoth. They have way to many time sinks in this game.

In WoW you can go from level 1-40 without seeing a single loading screen, You just get on your mount and start running. In this game I need a loading screen every 5 levels. In WoW I can jump into a warzone in the middle of the night, in this game I have to wait until peak times just to get a chance at getting into a WZ.

People will cry and whine whether it's Single or Cross server. Please stop using WoW as an example of crybabies.

As a side note: James Ohlen said "NO MERGES". If anyone wants to post here, please consider the fact that the merges JO is speaking of is NOT the same thing as transferring off of dead servers and shutting them down. Thanks.

Transfer/shut-downs are VERY LIKELY going to happen to cull the number of servers that are currently available. But, again, that is NOT a merge.
And the first time they do a transfer of one my chars after they shut my server down and I lose my char's names...will be the final nail in my sub coffin. :P
