You know, any MMO Ive ever played in the last 21 years has broken stuff when patching, so I really dont give EAoware bad marks for that.

Its par for the course.

Of course you wished and prayed and dreamed all these companies would be, you know, proffessional and test the patchs for bugs and what not. But after UO launch and early SWG, nothing really surprises me that they do not.

What does BAFFLE ME though is EAowares insistance to hammer 1 time period multiple times a week with this.

Why isnt the second down time say 6 am est rather then 3? Or 10 am est?
Why cant they stagger the downtime periods if they need to do multiple patchs every week?

Ive played at 7am est, Trust me, there isnt a whole heck of allot going on population wise in North America at that time of day. But at 12 midnight Pacific there IS more going on.

I dont get it, I really dont.

Stagger your downtimes so everyone is affected in a balanced way.

Would that really be so gawd awful terrible to do?
In regards to lessening F2P and Preferred restrictions
In GAMING, as in LIFE,
You get what you pay for
No game restriction is so dire that $15.00/month will not eliminate it

Test your *********** patches before you update the servers.

USE THE PTS FOR EVERY PATCH

I can live with 1 maintenance a week in MY prime time, im used to it, I get it, that's not going to change because its "to hard" for you to do it separate to the other time zones, but 2 or more in one week is beyond a *********** joke.

TEST YOUR PATCHES YOU LAZY DEV TEAM

The Oceanic servers aren't the only ones with consistently high populations this time of the day. Someone at BW needs to seriously research how many players they're affecting.

Dear BioWare,

Since it seems that multiple patches a week is becoming the norm, could you at least look into reducing the maintenance time involved in the patching process? On my timezone, the maintenance period is around noon. I do have a job, but I like to run crafting and crew missions from work. Today is the third day this week that I haven't been able to do so (the news of Wednesday's maintenance being postponed reached me too late). Maintenance falling on a weekend will take a sizable chunk out of my actual playing time.

If you can't reduce the downtime, an alternative is to have different maintenance windows for each region. I know this causes difficulties with the global play scheme, but perhaps you could have the launcher check which servers the player has characters on and use that information to decide whether or not to download the patch?

Sincerely,
A loyal customer that's getting a bit irritated

Hey Bio, ARE YOU READING THIS THREAD?????????????????

DO YOU EVEN CARE WHAT YOUR PLAYERS ARE SAYING ABOUT THE TIME THE SERVERS GO DOWN?

WHY CAN'T YOU PUSH IT BACK A FEW MORE HOURS?!?!?!?!?!? IS IT REALLY THAT HARD?????????

(typing in caps in a futile attempt to get them to see).......

Rift devs are constantly getting into their forums DISCUSSING whats on peoples minds and do their best to comply with the communities needs. RIFT does it right..............Bio should take a few notes from that company.....But they wont, and only God knows why......

This is beyond lame.............seriously
"I wonder what you will say when SWTOR surpasses WoW in subs.

Something like Oh it will die in 2 years from now, when it doesnt you change your opinion and say Oh its 4 years." quote from DARTHDOLL 2/25/2012

I congratulate the posters in this thread.

There is a fair amount of emotion but overall this thread is about 98% better mannered than the average thread I read daily in the PvP forums.

I am all in favour of people being held responsible for their actions and would like to see a bonus payment implemented for "not inducing bugs during patches". ie, 2% for each flawless patch.

While this may be seen as a reward, the people who have this bonus taken away from them may see it as an incentive to do better.

Of course the metrics would need to be studied and over performers would need to be brought back down to intended targets.

Yes, this! They really just need to leave the game broken for a week and then fix it during the scheduled patch. Seriously. I got home on Monday to hear "servers will go down". I come home Tuesday and hear "servers will go down." I come home Wednesday and hear "servers will go down." It kills level 50 bracket PVP and disrupts my gameplay.

For the time I get home, this game too frequently offline. Even most "game breaking" bugs allow me to at least do something in the game, but not the dreaded downtime.

They just need to leave it broken on live and fix it internally so the patch is ready to go at the scheduled time.
