No offense but he has a point.

But then I think we all have our own reasons for why we don't play the older games we enjoyed anymore.

I enjoyed UO, Lineage 2 and WoW but I think what happens is, with certain "updates" come changes that make players unhappy and they leave. That explains it for me at least.

Changes are good but when they change the game so much to where it's not even the same game anymore...

Exactly. They could go into a Heroic area (not instanced) and camp an elite spawn site all day. Good luck finding anyone else willing to waste their time though.

So wrong you are, as to think you know what I like and dislike.. One.. 4 guys beating up on a normal pull is overkill and not fun.. I asked for an want UNLIMITED "heroic" group camping.. However, the game doesn't allow that.. aka DAILIES.... Many of the 2 and 4 man heroics are instanced dailies.. Infact, my idea would help with grouping more.. The biggest problem SWTOR has now with running alts is because EVERYONE is running this linear storyline and are seldom on the same quest.... Allowing "camping" without being penalized would allow ALTs to group at will.. Right?

Yeah i really miss eq1 and often think about all the fun i had in that game, but would i play it again? maybe for a few minutes but never again like the way i used to.

I was a barbarian rogue, remember trying to get back into blackburrow for a corpse run from halas? You were naked so had no torch, the cave was winding and 100% pitch black so you had to feel your way through and to top it off they put two gnoll guards at the entrance, that you had to fight naked to get past, and 3 or 4 gnolls in the damn cave that you had to fight naked AND blind!

Now i look back on that and think man those were the good old days, but if im realistic if that was today in swtor or wow i would probably be seriously mad lol especialy since everytime you died you lost a TON of xp, and you usualy died ALOT on corpse runs. and if you didnt get your corpse back you lost everything that was on your body and inventory, weapons armor and all.

I feel like and old man sitting on a porch talking about ww2.

I would if I wasn't handicapping myself.. That is the problem TOR has.. IF you don't follow the breadcrumb trail linear quest line.. YOU forfeit all rewards... Therefore, camping a heroic area puts your character at a disadvantage, doesn't it?

I find that people simply do not have the willpower to ignore the changes. For example, EQ. One most certainly can go back to Qeynos or Kelethin, start up a fresh character and play like times haven't changed. More the better if you bring like-minded friends with you. But be sure one of your friends is Wizard or Druid for ports, because you'll have to ignore (by choice) PoP. You'll have to ignore the market system too..you're going to have to get all your gear yourself. Go camp Orcs in Crushbone, etc. Ignore any quests that might have been added post-Luclin.

I suspect people would last only a few days before they say..eff this, and start using Portals to PoK, start using the market...start taking quests.

Oh yeah! Let's go back to those good ole days!!!

I miss those 2+hour corpse runs *sigh*
I just loooooved those mob killing groups for experience.....

The endless mob trains..... wow.... *sniff* i miss them soooo much

Oh wait!! Your remember those endless camps for days... yes ... DAYS on end for that certain item you needed for your epic?? Or X mob for said item???? If we could only find a way those bring those back!!

Oh the boat rides!!! Wait an excellent use of time those were...!! OMG! ... (and people complain now about space ship rides that last 2 minutes)

Talk about rose colored glasses...

Wrong. You could camp a world boss to your hearts content. You could also run through flashpoints non-stop, but then again, you'd have to move for that... which would probably take away your need for "camping".

Plenty of World Bosses you can camp. And who said you had to do it 'on level'. We never were 'on level' in EQ. You can go to any of the higher level dungeons in SWTOR with fast spawns and camp them. Get several groups together if you want 'unlimited' peeps. You have to power to do this. But you won't.

A lot of Heroic area mobs and bosses drop blue loot, and even then, how often did you get epic loot while camping some Gnolls in EQ? So, the only way you could have this old school "fun" is if everyone else was forced to do the same thing?
