Greetings all,

Thank you for these results.

We have recently had reports on a thread within the german forums that the SWTOR client has being run with a Low CPU Priority. This was also to be commented as having an adverse affect on the sound and causing crashing.

Based on the results you have provided we can now be sure that this is not the case, and we will continue to research into this issue for a resolution as soon as possible.

Thank You.

Wait...what!? I'm lost...does that have anything to do with you fixing this? Is that something "I" should be looking for?! If so...how?! If you simply ruled something out (which is how I read that), um...why comment with such specifics about it? I'm thoroughly confused now...

I've given the EXACT steps to reproduce this bug several times. Do the NEW Operation. Before you finish with the first boss fight, your sound will be out. Trust me. Happens to 8 of us EVERY TIME!!! Same thing in EV but it takes a bit longer.

I'm amazed this wasn't fixed in the first patch after 1.2, and now a month or so later and the sound is still totally screwed. It's crazy annoying not hearing the sounds in war zones like when someone plants a bomb or certain abilities go off. It's crazy annoying that the voice overs are missing in all the cut scenes. It's amateur hour. In civil war most of the time the speeder at the beginning of the game just appears without ever hearing the announcer say a single word.

All I can do is /forehead at this mess of a game... But I suppose I should also thank Bio for exposing me to the crap known as Hero Engine... I'll atleast save 60+ bucks by not purchasing Elder Scrolls Online when it releases next year... so thanks for that!?!

Actually, ruling things out as not the cause of an issue is an important step in the right direction to fixing a problem. It's all part of troubleshooting. On another point, I appreciate their detailed response. It shows that they are working on it. So, stop giving their employees a hard time when they are just doing their job.

So I had this problem along with the crashing I fixed it temporarily with a complete wipe of swtor and registry cleaning but it has returned. It returned with the first flashpoint I ran with a group. I ran a few solo without issue before I ran one with a group as soon as i got to the first convo in the flashpoint with a group I had no sound from npc's and no animation on their mouths. Hopefully this will help with tracking down this bug because it is really annoying playing without sound or partial sound.

And this Happened in MANDO RAIDERS NOT the new one. I have NEVER run the new fp or op so That is NOT the issue.

Detailed response?! He told us what it wasn't, not how to fix it, nor how to bypass it...You assume too much to assume they're working on it - they don't even have this issue on the "Known issues" list.

And I'm NOT giving them a hard time...in fact, I gave the EXACT steps to reproduce it without fail. You're welcome.

Especially given the fact that the "fully voiced" part of this game was supposed to be the 4th pillar or some such thing. All that work...wasted. I won't even grind my alt right now because the story (the one I haven't heard) is the only thing I WANT to hear.

Consular/Sage

Last night, when doing the new EC operation, I lost sound the exact moment I stepped out of the cave that comes after Toth/Zorn. Could be a coincidence, but also a little later, that same cave was where I got some music back for a while - but only in that cave when running through. It stopped again just outside.

Also, companion voices broken pretty much 100% of time. As someone pointed out somewhere, the voice seems to come from someone else's companion of same type, so if another consular has for example Tharan summoned, the voice of my Tharan seems to come from that direction. And if I'm all alone in my own instance, the sound comes from my companion's direction but distorted (compared to pre-1.2). Not sure if this surround-effect was intended, but it sure doesnt work well with companions.

Trooper/commando

Electric noise in ship, right after loggin on. Very loud specially in the small room next to bridge.
