I mean he doesn't even list Guild Wars.

Come on, that's just ridiculous. I cant believe people would trust data on a site that doesnt consider Guild Wars an MMO.

His stuff is completely subjective and biased based on his own rules.

And hasnt Xfire been proven to be pretty NOT accurate for player numbers?

Serves them right for catering to casuals.

Quick buck go for casuals. You want long term revenue with a dedicated player base? Make the standard and hardcore players happy.

I hope this shows the industry can't rely on casuals for a steady revenue and future MMOs don't cater to them. The MMO industry needs to go back to a niche market with sandbox style gaming and everything else we used to love.

Read the underlined. MMOData is completely useless because I dont see a single source like next to 90% of his stuff. Just says,

Added a new Datapoint.

Ok, based on what exactly? Oh you dont provide your sources? Welp then its worthless garabage as far as I am concerned.
Suit yourself. You appear to be an angry unhappy MMO player that does not want to use data estimates that have proven to be more accurate then anything else (especially your wild claims )

No matter where I look I don't see SWTOR!!!!
How old is that article, because at least half the games are free to play and have been for some time? It could have come out long before SWTOR was released.

Not to mention the fact that Aion was a complete grind-disaster the first year of it's life and actually only got better after the F2P changes.

If the game had launched with all of 1.2's fixes, features, and content, this game would be way better off subscriber-wise than it is now.

You can't bungle an MMO launch. It is your single best attempt to attract and retain a customer base.

TOR's unfinished release build was the coffin, all the nails (including the final one) and the hole it'll be buried in all at once. You can't release an unfinished product and then hope to have a high volume of monthly subscribers. You can get away with it on non-sub games, because all you care about is the box-sales, and if you happen to give a damn about your customers you can patch it up after the fact. If you're going to charge a monthly "premium" from the start, you need to provide a "premium" experience or people will just stop paying for it, and I think it's highly likely that once you lose a particular subscriber, it's nearly impossible to get them back.

It's really sad. I enjoyed the game for what it was in December and January, a beta-quality trainwreck, but I took some time away while EAware 'finished' it. Now that 1.2 is out and the game feels like a much more complete product, the kicker is that there aren't enough people left playing it on most servers to even qualify the game as a MMO. Hell, most home users could probably host any planet (or the fleet) population on their local systems.

Got a question for you...

Why are you here? All you are doing is hating and hating. You already canceled your subscription, so instead of being an angry person trying to spread the misery, go play something else, no one is making you otherwise

I wonder if the people that got the free month and quit, like me, but still have technically a sub were counted as subscribed or not?

Im not angry, i still play and subscribe to SWTOR. But as a Former analyst, I understand that without sources most of his data is useless.

While your dancing the entire genre, not just this game, is currently at risk. Investment market could care less if its a video game or a refrigerator. If the particular market is not producing, they will migrate away as fast as they ventured in and the market will die....which includes your "next game will be better" hopes.
