My guess is that it's mostly from the framerate issues they have yet to even try to fix.

How many prospective players are really gonna do the research and think "Hmm, 400K subs down... Better not buy this". Honestly? If I were a prospective player my thought process would be more along the lines of "Oooooh, it's that Star Wars game I've heard so much about. Let's give it a shot."

Even if they do the research and see that subs are down by 400K, do you really think that would be a huge deterrent? I mean, we're still kicking with more than 1million subscribers which is pretty darn impressive.

No I'm just trying to understand I guess. Because something doesn't add up in my head. They were touting 1.7 million in January, February, and March, We all know that number was not current the more they talked about it. I guess what I'm getting at is saying that "as of the end of April we have 1.3 million" sounds more to me like "our most recent numbers (March 31st) show that we have 1.3 million by the end of April" considering how often they used 1.7 million as a talking point for months.

1.3 million is still a very good figure for a game only five months old. Not to compare it to that "other game" but World of Warcraft boasted 1.5 million subscribers after four months of going live (http://internetgames.about.com/b/200...s-globally.htm). I wonder how many people left World of Warcraft after the first subscription cycle ended only to come back after a major content update or two.
WoW is from a different era of MMO's (the cusp really), prior to WoW and during WoW itself, MMO's were a niche genre, they didn't sell strong at launch, and gradually built up subscribers over time, and didn't peak for years. Post WoW MMO's became mainstream, now people anticipate MMO's, they sell a ton of copies at launch, and their population falls off, rather than steadily growing.

Yeah, but still, When i buy something, i tend to use it and enjoy it, if not, i toss it out.

If it is cool to me, i keep it

idk my logic may not make sense (sorry 15), but it is the way i see it
