Sorry if I was not clear. I was talking about the 300,000 people who canceled or didn't activate their game before the February 2nd report that stated the 1.7 million subs. It would be reasonable to believe that a very few didn't activate their game before that feb report. They sold 2.4 million units, and some where along the lines 1.1 million canceled, with very few never activating the game

Yep, Allison clarified that here:

Once again, HERE IS AN EXCELLENT REFERENCE EXAMPLE of a suit in today's analysts call using a term that means one thing to him, but means something else entirely to the MMO community. I point this out for the benefit of Dezzi and his literalist views on the use of words in different context audiences.
When you find yourself surrounded by hostile Clowns... always go for the "Juggler" first.

So Bioware considers April to be among Fourth Quarter numbers which means January, February, March and apparently April? Don't you get the feeling that something doesn't add up when they're reporting on a 3 month period and somehow including April?

Collectors probably bought the Collectors Edition and wanted only what was inside it

subs are down 25 percent

i wouldnt really care about expansions when its obvious your game might not even be worth playing by the time the expansion is ready to be sold

No surprise. release a game thats half done for a Christmas release for max sales. Trademark the word "Soon" And keep promising content. Then when content is supposed to be delivered at the last minute alter things. With a business practice like this why is anyone shocked?

This. 1.3 million is fantastic, really, but not with the number of servers they have.

A loss of 400,000 subscribers is quite significant; there's no spinning it or putting a coat of icing sugar on that. Having said that, however, that figure - as others have pointed out - was cited before patch 1.2 went live and we're all left wondering how many new subscribers came to the game at that time and how many re-subscribed.

1.3 million is still a very good figure for a game only five months old. Not to compare it to that "other game" but World of Warcraft boasted 1.5 million subscribers after four months of going live (http://internetgames.about.com/b/200...s-globally.htm). I wonder how many people left World of Warcraft after the first subscription cycle ended only to come back after a major content update or two.
Excession (Aus/Oceanic; GMT+8 to GMT+10) on Dalborra as of 24/4/12.

We're recruiting! Go here for more information or send myself (Arcis) an in-game message or tell.

I know a few people who bought multiple copies so that they could save a collectors box unopened and still play... cause ya know once it's opened it loses most of it's value or some such crap
