No it does not. They could in fact sell 20 million boxes (an extremism to make a point) and if only 2 million of those boxes were ever installed and accounts set up, then they have 18 million sold but not subscribed.

Now, for a boxed game with 30 FREE DAYS, they do not bill you account UNTIL your 30 days are up. Yeah, you have to set up a subscrition, but for accounting purposes, they don't have a subscription until they bill your credit card.

Game cards are a lttle different, but they are not a majority of MMO subscriptions so they are more noise then substance in the question at hand.
When you find yourself surrounded by hostile Clowns... always go for the "Juggler" first.

call we indicated that we had 1.7 million active subscribers, and as of the end of April we now
have 1.3 million, with a substantial portion of the decrease due to casual and trial players
cycling out of the subscriber base, driving up the overall percentage of paying subscribers.
"
No, I was merely stating and proving that the sub numbers come from the end of april, not the end of March. I was correcting you since you stated the end of march, which was not true. That is all.
How do you measure the success of an MMO?

Well, I bought, subbed, and stuck with Rift for almost a year. And they launched and added less content, including endgame, than TOR has so far. Quantifiably. Look it up. Why wouldn't I stay subbed here?

No, I'm going to say you dodged the question yet again. I'm not asking about whether you'd play the game based on story. I'm asking whether you'd play the game based on MECHANICS, because that is the part where I feel this game falls well short of the mark.

The game has some great stories and great writing. However that does not make it a great MMO.

Responded above. TOR has more MMO in it than Rift even did at launch and for the subsequent 4 months.

But its not like 1.1 million people bought the game and chose not to install it. They bought the game. Didnt like it, and chose not to subscribe. How is this not counted as lost subs? That just seems dumb to me...

Wow, I'm impressed! Still 1.3M, much more than I expected. Indeed, that's very good.
