Come on.
Because the numbers are from the end of april, not the end of march. but its still not that bad, I doubt too many people resubbed just for a free month, i know i didnt, ive just been hanging on hopping for a sign of change from bioware, but my hope has an expiration date.

Come on.
Cause it is not a number from the end of march, it is in fact a number from the end of April

Through the end of the quarter, approximately 2.4 million units have sold through. In our last
call we indicated that we had 1.7 million active subscribers, and as of the end of April we now
have 1.3 million, with a substantial portion of the decrease due to casual and trial players
cycling out of the subscriber base, driving up the overall percentage of paying subscribers

It's too be expected. There is always an initial drop-off of subs after a game's launch. It is two-fold here - a lot more people initially playing than typical because of the game and the hype, so more will be leaving because they thought they were buying a different game than what Bioware was actually made.

All in all, as many others have said here 1.3 million subscribers is very good at this point in the game. And we can clearly expect more and better content in the next year, which will draw some of those players back and bring in more players. Plus we still have to see how many subs were added thanks to the recent new roll-out in the Eurasia. I believe the game only needs to carry 500K subs to break even, so we are in very good shape here - lots of SW goodness for quite a while.

Nah they did say the casuals were leaving. I was on the call. I almost ealred when I heard it lol. I guess swtor made me casual after 5 years of WoW in a world 300 guild with a aff lock ranking as high as 19 on worldoflogs.com...

Meaning Bioware could lose substantially more if they'd included that.

Frankly, this free month thing reeks of marketing to entice those 3 month subs back. Though I am surprised they gave me a free month when I wasn't a current subscriber.

But EA/Bioware had to have analyzed how many 3 month subs they had and determined them to be a significant portion they could lose (or people already cancelled and just rode out their paid time)

Honestly, I expect numbers to go lower after 1.2, not higher, due to the timing, and due to 1.2 not having ranked warzones and disappointing people.

The ship is sinking.

Stop denying, and grab a bucket, or a lifeboat, take your pick.
I just took a look at your posts, and you really have nothing but vitriol for the game and BioWare. And now you're here on your free month just spamming the boards with nonsense.

Whatever torques your shorts. I just hope you aren't convinced that you sound authentic or legitimate.

Let me test you.

Tell me three things BioWare could do with the game that would keep you as a paying subscriber for another 12 months? I highly doubt you can come up with something here that isn't completely outlandish, but good luck.

Maybe you'll prove me wrong?

They can't seem to understand that someone can like the game yet be able to notice what is wrong, and how much fluff that call actually was. Looking at the items individually and the actual terms used, TOR is in trouble. It might not be sunk, but it needs change. EA's future interests also gives a bit of warning on how they think they stand themselves.

This exactly. The game just isn't casual friendly in finding groups, at all.

1.3 mill subs =/= people playing.

I have a 6 month sub, and no longer play this game for how dead it is. And I think there are people like me who believe in this game and paid for the time they think they would be still playing. Hence, high subscription number but dead servers
