Casual players need LFD. They don't have the time to log in and spam fleet for hours to experience FP/OP content. How BW didn't know this is beyond me. Maybe they did know and didn't care. Maybe they do have a target audience and we're filtering down to it.

Maybe next time actually listen to the conference call, rather then ply internet hearsay.

Subs only down 25%? I think that's being very optimistic and question the validity of that number. I think the population has dropped a good 80% and expect subs to match relatively quickly.

Time to go nerf and balance some more Bioware. It's working great so far.

1.2 was a complete failure of NGE proportions and even now we are still watching the fallout (and subs cancelling) from it

"Through the end of the quarter, approximately 2.4 million units have sold through. In our last
call we indicated that we had 1.7 million active subscribers, and as of the end of April we now
have 1.3 million, with a substantial portion of the decrease due to casual and trial players
cycling out of the subscriber base, driving up the overall percentage of paying subscribers."

They specifically state 1.3 million at the end of April

This reminds me of WAR, lol.

They started losing huger percentages of customers and people kept up the, so what, we have this many playing, right up to the point where those idiots realized that they're being milked by a ****** game, at which point they all left and the game is what it is now.

I have no idea how any fan can sit there and say, OMG 1.3 million still playing, while at the same time, that's almost 25% decline from the previous two months... Imagine what's gonna happen after this month is over and their stupid PR, keep the subs up, give them a free month, wears off.. Another huge drop off player base and another 5% stock drop by EA, at which point, all the investors are gonna say, F' that and there goes SWTOR.

Regarding the units sold, it may be a hard fact to wrap one's head around for some people, but there's any number of reasons why a game may be purchased, but not "activated" at the same time. Gifts are probably a big cause of this, in some cases purchased the past several months for Christmas some 9 to 11 months later. The others that were investigated at game launch were the extreme fans buying the CE version for the other swag, and even just for that Gnost-dural book. This group's interesting. When it comes to Star Wars, there's people who will actually just buy the game because it has Star Wars on it, but may not actually ever play the game, or even open the package up. All of this grossly skews the numbers compared to less "fandom" oriented products.
Does it really matter? That wasn't really the whole point of my post, it was about there being to many servers. Perhaps they have enough servers for 2.4 million customers, but they only have 1.3 million, so my point still stands, they need to drop half if not more of their servers.

Yep, that's very likely what they're going to do. Transfer/shut-downs of servers like Rift did last year. Worked quite well.
