This throws the numbers completely off balance and makes it impossible to use active subscriptions as a gauge of active players.
This needs to be put in bold for everyone who thinks "25% isn't that bad of a loss"

EA's wanting to push microtransactions to ALL their titles, with interest in making many of them free to play supported by those microtransactions.

"E3 will be an eye opener"

"TOR casual audiance has unsubscribed"

TOR profits were in the top 10 for EA but not in the top 5.

TOR not as important as upcoming simcity title

High demand from TOR players to put in achievements (???)

It goes on a bit but most of those stood out in large detail to me. Interesting to see what comes
If they seem to be "downplaying" it, it's because they have nothing to worry about when it comes to TOR. You say EA is all about numbers, right? Then look at the damned numbers!

TOR subs are well above the projected and typical MMO dropoff curve. This is a good thing. The very fact that it's 1.3 million and not 600k is indicative of a huge success for the first 6 months of an MMO.

What *IS* important, however, is what they do from here, and that's up to BioWare's upper echelon, not EA's. That is, it is now up to BioWare to do the non-typical upward curve, or allow TOR to "coast".

That remains to be seen.

Considering that worldwide economy sucks and all the trolling and hate the game got from launch I think 1.3 million is good news.
People will get quickly bored and disappointed in GW2 and TSW and will be back here in the fall... that is my prediction. More then 2 millions subs at the end of the year....
Deep in the human unconscious is a pervasive need for a logical universe that makes sense. But the real universe is always one step beyond logic.

what don't trolls seem to get about this? The free month was given AFTER March 31st which was the cut off date. Keep buying SWTOR accounts and paying monthly to Troll though... because you are still helping SWTOR make money.

Wait, if they use the term "active subs" versus paying subs. Cant investors in EA demand to know the total PAYING subs the game has?

But weren't the only people given this free month people who already had a subscription?

They wont come back to TOR. They will go create the same healty atmosphre in GW2, TERA, and TSW, and rage leave. They will probably hype Elders Scrolls Online too.

Sales. Down to 500k subs (less now, actually).

How often was that explained here, countless times, but specially for you: Active gametime = active forum, when you unsubbed you still have access for your remaining gametime, is it that hard to understand...

They gave ACTIVE accounts a free month. So it probably does not effect these numbers. They would have been included anyway.

25% is bad regardless.
