Regardless i dont see how launching in those 38 countries would help them that much anyways, most of the ppl in those countries that wanted to play probably already ordered the game online at launch.
The numbers do not include the 38-country launch.

Yeah I'd have been 99% certain they'd include trial players (almost all MMORPGs do count trial players - both in first free month trial and free weekend trialers too), I'm not so certain about free time players though (but I'd still be betting on them doing so).
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

750K is a lot closer to the actual playerbase. It will be 500K if rated warzones do not launch in Fiscal Q1 April-June.

1.3 million is AWSOME!!!! If they stay there but that is just straight bleed with nothing new launching. We still have to get threw d3 GW2 and panadas.
See my reference to LOTRO, they dropped to 35% of their peak numbers between their two failed expansions. Can the trend be reversed over night.... YUP!!! you just need a big event or reason to log in. Look at the log in numbers and server activity during the world event on tat. You need buzz, and some reason for people to log in to change your trends. LOTRO did it with a dragon, and they went to 120% of their previous peak.

D3/GW2 are old school games, and as such will be prone to burn out. Look at Skyrim, it is was a flash in the pan to most MMO's. The real threat would be another MMO launch, and I don't see anything on the horrizon that I would call a real threat. Honestly Bioware is the biggest threat to SWTOR, if they cannot get the quality of their product and communications up, they will loose the trust of the casual and main stream gammer. My guess about the 400000 is they represent the ADD hard core gamer type, who have yet to be captured by any MMO.

Look at MMO populations they always fall off three months after launch. See the tumble weeds on the rift servers for proof of that.

I do remember Daniel Erickson saying that, for the benefit of those whose memory may need a little boost, here's the link http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/04/23/bi...g-in-to-swtor/

So 1.3 million accounts is well above 'hugely profitable'.

Having said that, they still need to do server merges. My server is practicaly dead.

EDIT: And just to add - people that are comparing WoW accoutns to TOR need to stop. WoW is a freak of nature. Compare accounts to LOTRO and EQ and COH, etc... 1.3 million accounts is WELL past what they need to be still considered a huge success.
Lol! You just pointed out why figures can be misleading and the sub report was based on " active accounts " thru the end of March.

an that make swtor THE BIGGEST mmo EVER!

SWTOR is the best MMO to date.

It had a perfect launch, no bugs, Bioware responds to every problem as fast as they can!

25% of their subscribers left? Big deal. Plenty of them in China.

Next quarter 50% leave? Who cares?! I hear the ocean is an unexplored area for MMOs. Fish love SWTOR!
