Obviously you have no information whatsoever to back that claim up with.

heres the way the world works.your monthly fee provides bioware with money to make these so called promises they were promising.but when you get the impatient crybabys who's way of dealing with the problems in sw tor is unsubbing.then that gives bioware less money to implement these so called promises they made

but whatever,i just hope the same bunch doesnt move to gw2 and kill it the same way they did sw tor.i can totally see it happening.its like a landslide waiting to happen, first it will be gw2,then diablo 3,then they'll just go the next mmo until the only mmo with a sub fee is world of warcraft
Lol they will, all the stuff you have seen on these forums will be there too and yes i attribute it to the early twentys somethings and teens of today, the "Gimme now" generation, cant stand em.

Actually, it doesn't. Anyone that cancelled after receiving their free month does not qualify as an active subscriber. There's actually more than 1.3 million.

To the people who think "oh 1.3 is still good, way to go herpedyherpaderp!" you don't realize that stock prices are derived from market expectations which are derived from predictions. When you dip below those predictions your stock price takes a hit.

As it stands now..SWTOR is a business failure as it didn't meet expectations and EA is going to have to adjust future goals and target dollars to account for the steep decline in subs.
haha, you can say it's a 'business failure' all you want....doesn't make it so. Expectations can be wrong and overly optimistic. The market corrects itself. Just as when doomsayers such as yourself drive a market price down, savvy investors snatch up the undervalued stocks.

The game is still raking in almost 20 million dollars a month. I don't know anywhere on earth where that is considered a 'failure'.

It also means that 400,000 subscribers decided to pack up and go elsewhere.

I'm told the game only needs 500,000 subscribers to be profitable. That should give you a sense of scale for that 25% loss...

What mmo on the planet has ever had a 94% retention rate 3 month after launch (1.7M initial and 1.6M forecasted). That seems somewhat unrealistic unless they were expecting more box sales. I would say anything north of 80% would be pretty good.

I dont see any way people can spin a 20% loss in revenue (not including a game wide free month loss in revenue) = positive news

I run a raiding guild and only want to see the game get better, however, if the game only shows steady decline im forced to decide if i should continue investing time into this or not.

For those stating retention from release date, please link economic data showing this is true with all SURVIVING mmo's please.

Meanwhile, in Tera general chat -

"The sad thing is, arguing with fanbois on the forums was more entertaining than their 300 million dollar single player MMO from 2008"

If it was designed with "true" mmoers in mind it would have only every had 500k subs and never any more

But I suppose that depends on what you mean by "true mmoers". When I think true mmoers I think of first and second gen mmo's which tended around a few hundred thousand sub's. Till WoW came along and catered to the casual mmoer and borke 1 million...
