This is EA Fiscal Q4 so Jan, Feb and March.

New country sales not included in the count.

75% retention is not bad. Though given it's a Star Wars IP, 25% drop in sub seems rather steep. Star Wars sells.
The problem with your last sentance is that not every Star Wars fan is a MMO player, Star Trek also sells but the game went F2P earlier this year and the really applies to LOTRO.

Movies and games are to different genres which appeal to completely different groups of people.

I wonder what the numbers were looking like in April after 1.2 dropped, it must have been really bad since they rolled out the free month. I bought the game in late March and am still in the including game time+free month. I don't know if I will stay subbed, there are a lot of worrying problems with this game.

I would probably pay $15 for a year's worth of access to these forums just for the lulz.

Hardly, if you take a look back through the thread, a lot of the people here are seeing this as a positive thing.

I don't think theres anything wrong about this retention rate over this period of time. It seems like a decent enough percentage compared to other games of it's type, but I'm really no expert on the subject. It still seems pretty obvious that it's a decline though, and I don't think that we, or Bioware, should take this as a sign that everything is going perfectly.

Definite improvements need to be made pretty quickly to improve sales and retention.

1.3 million is really strong! There is always expected a huge amount of subscription-drop in the first 3 - 6 months in a MMO game.
Subscriptions will finally stabilize, and hopefully grow from now on

I remember months before launch I guessed 2-4 million box sells and 500K subs after 6 months. It seems more people are sticking with the game than I expected!

Best part is, its thats true, then I expect the subs now to be even better. I know im not the only one that noticed a big jump in Fleet attendance when 1.2 came out in April (after the Q4 deadline).

From BW? You may be waitin' a long time.

From "us"? Does our "opinion" on this really matter?

Most of the people, including myself unsubbed after March. I don't see how anyone could put a positive spin on this. Even the news report has it as a huge negative. They just said a few days ago that subs didn't drop. 400,000 people is crazy bad.
