BW states TOR didn't start out "heavily PvP-focused"

Also, I was here before launch. The things the majority of PvPers were asking for was haphazard and all over the place. PvPers are having a hard time agreeing on anything these days.
And as the poster before stated. How would BioWare have metrics for the pvp population ratios for other games they didn't create? I call BS on that comment because there are games that are created for PvP and this doesn't happen to be one of them.

And as a beta tester you know just as well as I do that Ilum was never tested in live. It wasn't even fully functional in any stage of closed beta that I can remember. Hell I remember going there on my level 18 assassin and they didn't even have AT walkers or anything out there.... the turrets weren't even firing, but they were strangely blowing up for no reason.

On top of all that BW promised us all PvP lakes on Multiple planets with objectives and they even stated that players that were of a higher level would have a reverse bolster system to bring them in line with the highest level character that should be in the zone. They released with Ilum in a broken state due to poor testing and tattooine... with a pvp lake that serves no purpose. It HAD resources worth value, but because the high levels were farming them so easy they were removed from the zone.... eleminating the reason to even go there other than the black market. But who plays on a server with a republic population high enough to worry about what is on the black market?

Simple fact is that BW inflated SWTOR to have more PvP than it did. They straight out lied on press releases about PvP. I wish I could pull up the compiled thread of dev info on PvP, but it was erased with all the other forums when the game launched. Us beta testers kept being told that things were coming that never did. We should have seen this coming... but I don't think any of the beta pvper's thought BW would take the PvP out like this. Ranked was their redemption for their mistakes, but they pulled it within 4 hours of releasing it.

I am still here because frankly there isn't a better PvP game out, yet and I just love Star Wars. I keep hoping BW will pull out some magic fix it all, but having been around the block playing MMOs since EQ... I know in the back of my mind it won't be coming. By the time that they get PvP worth playing other games will be out with equal or better. That is just the sad truth that we will all have to come to realize and only the devote Star Wars fans will be left when that happens.

The game I want will never happen... I want Darkfall in space with both ground and space based full looting action based combat with persistant guild based warfare... yea there'd be 3 of us playing it... but man would it be fun.

A massive corporation over-hyping their product to sell more units?? That NEVER happens....

Welcome to the Corporate State. Read Chris Hedges.

Suits are not in it for the integrity of the game experience, they are in it for investors and big bonuses. Video games are art. This is the same problem with music, or any other corporate controlled artistic commodity. Real Artists could make great games, but who's going to give them money to actually make it???

Buffoons with big wallets. That's who. Don't blame the devs, blame EA's corporate structure.

Rest assured the actual devs are well aware of this games short-comings. Doesn't mean they have the power to change it.

They need to create open PvP environments where the players fight over something allows them to mae their own story. That's what makes epic PvP, and I still think BikWare doesn't get that.
I think this is at the core of the problem. Bioware forget that this is a living breathing game that is dynamic and they want to create stories and systems that pidgin hole players to there idea of fun. What they did not realize is that Successful MMOs allow for you to expand beyond that.

Actually *** am i taling about WOW is a linear piece of poop as well and that got 10 mil subs! I give up, I just want a good version of SWG please

I take issue with the word "promised", but I digress.

All we can do now is wait and see what their revamped open-world PvP is that they're currently working on.

Yet about half the servers are PvP, or RP-PvP.

Yeah, this will be the 3rd time they've tried to "fix" Ilum. My faith has been diminished to where I expect the absolute worst from Bioware. God how they have fallen.
All warfare is based on deception If his forces are united, separate them If you are far from the enemy, make him believe you are near A leader leads by example not by force

And on every one of their forums, there's a loud population that says it sucks and always will, so what can you do? *shrugs*
