Wait, these threads still exist?

There's like 90000000 of these already, aren't there?

To the OP, don't try to rationalize on the PVP forum. It'll get almost the same response as an incoherent post.

If they do end up nerfing Undying/Guarded's cooldown to like 2-3 minutes (which I don't think they will and don't really care if they did, anyways), I bet people will still complain about it.

"OMG MAKE IT A 30 MIN, or EVEN BETTER 1 HOUR COOLDOWN."

Yep, that's the cool beans shuckaroo donaldildydoo. I'm going to get some ice cream and chili dogs.

Marauders aren't the be all and end all of solo node ownage, that goes to dps tankasins. What their issue is, is that they benefit from support more than anyone else because of what their weaknesses are (they're the most susceptible class in the game to crowd control), meaning that provide them with the right support and they destroy everyone.

It's a bit laughable that bioware says "it's a team game", and then balances a class around the idea of its uptime being controlled in an almost 1v1 environment, and then people act shocked when people figure out that providing support to simply increase their uptime leads to easy wins.

When rated comes around and you see 8 mans, if they remain unchanged, it's going to become really obvious.

My main is a Sentinel and I have given this issue a lot of thought. I believe perhaps 2 things could change with Guarded by the Force (GbtF) and Undying Rage (UR).

First, and this one I'm 100% confident about, is that the visual should be -much- more clear. As it is now, at least with low graphics settings, the bubble is far too faint imo. This leads to people (myself included in the mirror match) burning valuable cooldowns and wasting energy when we are invulnerable instead of adapting their play. There needs to be a much more obvious visual que for players to change their tactics and count to ~5. This should be implemented asap and would be go a long way to solving people becoming frustrated.

Second, and this one I'm not 100% on, is I could see a potential healing debuff implemented during GbtF/UR's use during PvP conflict only. In PvP 5 seconds of invulnerability often leads to said player popping a heal pot and then, if possible, being healed up to full (+15% often if they use Rakata). I could potentially see this being a little overpowered and it really really encourages people not to focus us in organized PvP because we effectively get a free life (given that our vanish typically serves a similar function when healers are present having 2 abilities like this is very strong.) In PvE a healing debuff would 100% be a terrible idea. As melee this is one of our very important "oh *****" buttons and is 100% needed.

The advanced class itself is not incredibly OP, it's just that our kit has some extremely aggravating features and most of all we are very noticeable in PvP. When a Sent/Maurader is in your face it's obnoxious and you 100% know it. The sound and the flashy lightsabers are aggravating. What you don't realize is the Sent/Maurader is not "instajibbing" you from 100% in 3 seconds, it's the ranged classes which are subtly assisting said lightsaber dancer. You ONLY notice the sent/maurader cause they are swinging bright, noisy lightsabers and jumping all over. Everyone is overlooking ranged classes. Check the WZ scoreboards, top DPS can be almost any class. If Maurad/Sent was truly OP damage they would be far ahead every match. Their defensive CD's allow them to be on par with other classes, that is all. Take away their defensive CDs and they would be way below other classes every match, which shouldn't be the case for a -pure- dps class. Sure they are strong 1v1, but pvp in this game is not based on 1v1. Last I checked PvP in this game is 100% objective based, which means melee classes are typically forced to position near objectives, thus allowing ranged classes to fully unload from 30/35m.

Yeah, I don't have the balls to remove one of my main defensive cooldowns in a Warzone where opponents already like to target me because of my class/abilities.

I don't have the balls to purposely handicap my gameplay experience to appease others.

If every class that has a stun gives it up in exchange for me losing Guarded by the Force, then I'm all for it! =D

Juggs/PTs/Shadows, no matter their spec have taunt/aoe taunt. This lowers multiple attacks damage by 30%.

I will HAPPILY oh god so happily trade UR/GBTF for these abilities. or a real stun.

Most DPS classes complaining about not having our Defensive CDs, say absolutely nothing about taunts. Why? Because usually bad/mediocre DPS don't even use their taunts when they are available. If you have taunt/aoe taunt you should be using it constantly. You consistently can lower the damage someone deals by 30%, that is huge.

Hi, sniper here. I've been going over my skills and trying to find this so called defensive cooldown equivalent to undying rage, can someone help? All I've dug out is a shield that breaks in 1 hit and 3 seconds of white damage immunity.

You're also looking at this from a 1v1 situation perspective, where undying rage is arguably at its worst. 5 seconds of "survive any number of attacks from any number of people" means 5 seconds where you can interrupt other people from capping objectives (to say the least).

Guarded by the Force/Undying Rage is 4 seconds.

Oh, and as a "Sniper" you don't need as many defensive cooldowns.

Wanna know why?

Because you're ranged! And nobody can leap to you because you have cover!

You have roots, your dodge-shield, and a stun/daze.

And you never HAVE To be in melee range. Unlike a marauder/sentinel.

I'd exchange my cooldowns for yours...if I could shoot beams out of my lightsaber instead of all my normal attacks.
