I just noticed that this seems to be accepted as truth whenever this topic comes up without anyone articulating the reasoning behind it. I just want to understand the argument is all.
Personally I support a cross server tool for everything. (And no, I've never played WoW) But the reason it's much more needed for PvP is that you don't create a community with your enemies. You can group together with your friends and do PvE whenever you like, but if there are no enemies to fight you can't do PvP.
Oh, there will be a day of reckoning for you, non-believer! A totaling of sums and a snapping of necks, and you will count yourself among the damned!

The sooner people realize this game has no community the better. Then we can stop having arguments about tools that may or may not ruin a community that doesn't even really exist.

Not to mention alot of people seem to become huge jerks in lfg since there is no consequence to their actions. After all you'll likely never see the same people twice in lfg since they are from a different server and they don't care if they destroy their reputation. Where as before lfg when people were jerks no one would group with them anymore. That's why so many are against cross server lfg, we have learned from previous experience that it is not a good thing.
So you rather people quit the game because they become bored? This what I just dont get you want to be social great. But I come from a server that is low pop and to top it off my hours are bit off... So people like you get their way I will just move on to a game that understands that some of us want to play too...

Seirously, i dont know why anyone is complaining.

I can ask a question in general chat on the fleet and literally not hear a response the entire time im playing.

Guess what, NOBODY talks to anyone in this game anyway.

I've had the same experience as you. I asked a question on the fleet and got no response, but if I did they were just doing their routine. I'm currently on a PvE server, but I have to say, I got more help from people who where playing on a PvP server.

People on PvE servers are more Anti-social, I guess?

A community might actually exist when they implement a LFG tool though. Imagine the irony.

No kidding. On my server most of the time questions go unanswered and no one ever talks. Its like I am on a server populated by complete and utter shut ins who are terrified of social interactions. An LFD tool wouldn't make things worse cause at least on Corellian Run, there isn't a community to worry about.

Cross server queues don't negatively affect community at all, they merely augment an individual player's experience and allow networking beyond a single server. The LFG and instance pairing tools in Rift and WoW have proven to be terrific assets for the genre, allowing players to rapidly interact with a wide variety of players and experience content they wouldn't have been able to experience otherwise. At a time when theme park MMO model was slipping down a single player path for casuals, Blizzard developed the dungeon finder and put the 'massively' back in MMO.

I don't care either way if they put it in, I was answering dude's question as to why people are against it. If it gets implemented I will not use it and that's my choice to do so. I'd much rather group with people on my server.
