What's not clear about this statement: "This does not apply to all items with a set bonus, only those where the set bonus is attached to the Armoring modification."?

Actually I use my droid companion on one of my alts. I've done EXACTLY what I suggested you do. He is not gimped in any way because companions cannot take advantage of set bonuses anyway.

I've given you a solution to your dilemma. The only problem now is that you don't to expend the time, effort, or credits to make it happen. Instead you would rather spend your time and effort whinging on the forums about it.

Perhaps even something like (or maybe exactly like) HK-47 (here's hoping). You're going to be awfully disappointed when you find out you love this new companion, but he's going to be gimped for gearing compared to your other companions. This should be addressed before new companions come out, because believe me, I won't be the only one bringing this up when that happens. And it will happen.
I'm pretty positive that if new droid companions will be coming in the future that there will be new, i.e. easier and better ways to gear them up than what is currently in the game. Especially if they are for all classes.

Well, I wouldn't advise having droid gear drop in operations. I don't think people would be happy with that. Heard many a groan when the techblade or vibrosword drops in a flashpoint. However, I would be happy with being able to spend leftover coms on the same ilvl of gear as say, Black Hole gear from a droid specific Black Hole com vendor. This seems to me to be the easiest solution to the issue. I'm getting campaign gear from operations, so my BH coms are really just going to go to my companions anyway. I'd like them to work on SCORPIO rather than Kaliyo. That's all.
Yo. Droid companions need an operations vendor, too. My extra coms have to go somewhere, and I'd prefer SCORPIO to Kaliyo.

Actually, it's the OP's handle that's got my brow knitting in intrigue. Methinks the Cybermen from Doctor Who may have something to say about this...

Droid armour and tech weapons are half thought out and make little sense in this game. These concepts only complicate the game mechanics and offer nothing tangible in return.

Correct. Let's work this out in a new thread, as this one has been somewhat overrun by fanboi Schadenfreude.

I like that I give you a valid solution and it's written off as fanboy-ism. Worry not, I'll post the same solution in your other thread as well.
