I am all for a cross-server queue, too. I watch general, and it's become a spam-fest with a couple people that'll just spam the same thing over and over. Like 'Healer LFG BT Hard Mode' or something... 3 times in 1 minute is a bit of overkill. If you want to stick with people on the same server... join a guild. That's what they're for, and then everyone you play with has accountability and the like.

I don't see why adding a cross-server LFG tool destroys 'community.' The only thing that can either promote or destroy community is you as an individual.
Not sure why you quoted my post...I agree with you about xserver lfd, and I too find it ludicrous that people think it destroys community. As for the part of my post you quoted...yes, they still have it in WoW as far as I know (I quit shortly after Cata came out), but I was pointing out we don't have that specific tool at present in ToR. In WoW, alot of the non-ninja drama usually had to do with what someone saw on recount.

Yeah we need cross server queues, a lock on rolling loot not for your advanced class would deal with the only real problem of cross server queue.

This is a very logical thing to do, I assume the worst-case scenario because thus far everything Bioware has done has "strings attached". It's like they are going out of their way to half-*** these features and give customers the opposite of what they want.

This is the worst dev team I have ever seen.

I mean come on, logic? That's just an epic fail.

Anyway, I re-rolled to a low pop server simply because I couldn't use the name I wanted for a couple of alts. I wish there were more people, certainly, but I have no problem waiting until we get actual facts and information before making a judgement on the transfer system. In the mean time, I'm still logging on and enjoying the game. I know - shocking that the game is actually enjoyable, but then I have always been one to buck the trend whenever possible.

Think YOU'RE one to buck the system? I've been playing at least 4 days a week, roughly 2 hours a day and still don't have a lvl 50. Beat that!

Maybe that's why I'm enjoying the game so much. I've seen the 4 republic classes at least through level 20, Sith Inquisitor to 40 (before re-rolling on a higher-pop server - server number three for me) and BH to 13 so far. There's so much content during the leveling process with the class quests, I still find it funny that people "can't find a reason to stay subbed". -smh-

Oh, and I'll take my logic elsewhere...

You re-rolled because of a name? That's border-line insane. What is the matter with you?

That's not insane. That's hardcore RP.

LOL, the name of my character is important to me. I have rolled on a server where a name is available just because I wanted to play a character with that name. I'd never be able to play a character named Twigginberries or Ltopnewb.

The gain of keeping customers? I am hitting this wall now I am on a low pop server and I tend to play after 9pm central.. Logging last night around 2 am there was 2 people on the fleet.... If you dont like the cross server then have BW put a switch in so you can turn it off.. But some of us just WANT TO PLAY.... I been 50 for a month on my new server and been in ONE HM....

Thats not a good record...

We should be well passed being against cross server anything.

What's the worst that can happen? You can't damage a community that isn't terribly vibrant to being with.

Do you honestly think Bioware will allow me to transfer my low pop character to already heavily populated servers for free? If I can't, then those characters become useless because again, I'm not paying more money for Bioware's mistakes.

In the very least, if you are already ON a heavy pop server right now, they should allow free transfers of your other characters to said server. If they do, I'd be happy and I'd gladly eat crow for my assumptions. But, they've already fooled me once by charging for transfers in the first place... and you know the saying....
I'm going to do something you probably hate: compare this to how Blizzard handles transfers.

Blizzard offers free transfers when they deem them necessary for players to move from over-populated servers to less populated servers so they can better balance out the player base among the servers. This also includes faction specific transfers to help balance out faction imbalances on specific servers from servers with faction imbalances going the other way. They offer paid transfers for moving whenever you want to whatever server you want, but they make those paid so you think about the move before just moving which helps put a damper on players just up and moving creating chaos on the servers.

What I mean is Bioware is going to do (most likely) what Blizzard does and any sane gaming company does that has server set-ups like this should be doing and that's offering free transfers to help balance out server populations and paid transfers for moving from where-ever to where-ever. It's not feasible to have everyone moving for free to any server without any restrictions.
