A free one-time-only change is doable, and is planned, if I remember right. I'll find the quote..

i love being able to know what chars someone has on their account (the absolute hatred i have for goldsellers on another game lead to much rage when i couldnt ignore entire accounts, just a single character on said account) and i love the idea that they cant log out and then spam from another name. i do hope the ignore function ignores the legacy name rather than the individual character ... i presume thats why they instigated legacy. if it is, well done to the genius that thought of it ... finally, someone did.
as for a legacy change request, paid or unpaid .... gods no. bioware would have to link the old legay to the new one and keep it on record.
if the legacy namechange was viewable with /who or something like that then ok. it would be for purely cosmetic reasons.
if it is not viewable and bioware did not link the names up .... then this would just be abused by people who earned bad reputations and would allow them an escape route to go be winkers again.
no, i say

from a lot of respones, it seems most people object to this request

If there is one, I hope it's only once and any other time will cost an *extravagant fee.

*By extravagant, I mean like $30. That seems to be the most money no MMO player wants to spend, lmao

I agree if you **** it up a second time they should give you a helmet and put you in a home..

the first time i will give peopel might not have realized how important legacy name was (dispite bioware putting up a big warning saying as much) but ill give that they werent reading maybe they space bard through that too..

but to mess it up a second time? it should cost you your first born child.

To me, this argues for preventing legacy name changes, or at least charging for a change. "Silly" choices have consequences. Better to learn this lesson in a game rather than, let's say in your job or your marriage.

How were people not aware that it'd be important until 1.2...? It was so clearly stated, so many times. No to legacy name change. Why diminish its value?

I'm the worst at paying attention and reading something. I just hurry and click through things important. I screwed up and gave my legacy name the same name as my guy. I hate it, but hey, you live you learn. Rerolled on another server and did it better. I say, you pick it, you keep it

A few of my friends chose silly legacy names, it's a constant reminder of the fun we once had in this game, shame it's boring now we have finished the content several times over and everyone in my guild is leaving after the free month, most just don't log-on anymore

Still, legacy is just that, a legacy, allowing it to be changed is a bit silly.
