question. in real life you can afford gas right? but you still want the best deal. we dont need such crazy prices on legacy gear.

Bad analogy. Gas is needed for some people to get from point A to point B in a certain amount of time. Legacy gear is not needed to reach level cap.

EDIT: Just clarified something.

I'm fine with most of BW'es prices but they really need to cut down on the extraction cost for mods. Actually, they should get rid of it altogether because it doesnt come with anything positive. All it does is to prevent, or atleast delay, us from fiddling around with stat combos. Hell, even with mllions in the bank I'm hesitant about blowing 200K on extracting the mods from two pieces.

The players arent much better with their dream pices on the GTN, it's like a freaking cartel is running the show. Just an example:
* I craft or find something rare
* If I've crafted it I got a pretty good idea of how much it cost me to make it and if it was loot it was pretty much free.
*So here we have this item that I would make a profit on by putting up for 10K. That's when I notice that everyone els is charging 100K for it. Really, 100K?

Granted that some people might be able to cover every crafting skill by using different chars but for the majority of players it's only stupid to push the prices. It will only come back and hit you in the *** when you're trying to buy something yoú can't craft or find.

I agree completely. The whole point of the Legacy system is to encourage people to play multiple characters and experience more of the story. THIS SYSTEM DOES THE EXACT OPPOSITE. You don't earn credits when you play alts. You are lucky when you break even when you are playing a fresh character because of regular expenses while leveling, like crafting, buying speeders, upgrading gear, etc. The only way to earn millions of credits required for Legacy unlocks is to stick to one level 50 character and do nothing but daily quests and flashpoints all day farming for credits. A system that encourages grinding/farming for credits is a BAD system. Everyone knows that. Bioware should know that, too.

A suggestion: the cost of the unlocks goes down the higher your Legacy level goes up. That way if I am focusing on playing multiple characters instead of farming credits on a level 50, I can still get Legacy unlocks by having the costs go down when my Legacy level goes up. And this leaves the money sink in place for players who spend their time madly farming credits on a level 50 character.

Completely agree. I was never all that into legacy to begin with and seeing those prices just made me care even less. Mod removal costs are insane as well.
Meanwhile, in Tera general chat -

Given this thread, I'd question whether you're capable of enjoying either on its own, let alone both.

If you really feel so aggrieved by the fact that you have to grind a bit for (in this case wholly optional and unnecessary) shinies, you're in the wrong genre of game.

I'm disappointed (but hardly surprised) that it took 5 pages for someone, anyone at all, to post a worthwhile suggestion. Having the current prices for if you buy something at the minimum legacy level required to unlock it, with a (probably percentage-based) cost reduction for each legacy level beyond that, is a really good idea.

I see where you are coming from, some of the unlocks cost alot, so here are a few tips:

A. Legacy
1.Race unlocks: If you want one of the race unlocks, you can either pay %00K for humans and 1.5 mil for anything else,OR level that race to 50. if you do either one, it will permanently unlock that race. As 1.5 million is a ton of money for a race, and better spent on other things, i would opt to level a race you really like to 50/

2. Light/dark side: either of these cost legacy level 10 and 250K, OR reaching light/dark V with a level 50, which would be pretty easy with a fewe esseles / black talon runs

3. Social emotes: These dont cost much, (150K at most) but are not necessary. So just unlock them via social level

4. Valor unlocks: I dont know these prices, as i had the valor rank for all of them before 1.2 came out, but valor ist really that hard to get, so dont pay for them

5. Convienence/ship unlocks: These contain the most expensive unlocks, and since they are purchase only, see my tips for making money, below

B. Making money:

1. Orenge gear: As of 1.2 orenge gear(mod-able) can be crit crafted, adding an augment slot. This level gear will sell for the most, and i reccomend selling it for 1K less than the lowest on the GTN, currently, or in general chat for, maybe 75K? it depends on the server for what people are willing to pay.

2. Materials: Sometimes, it is better to sell some of the materials you have gotten. On my server , Mandalorian Iron goes pretty high for a low amount. So i would consider selling your purple level 6 underworld metals and silk

I didnt read through the entire post, so forgive me if i have re-stated someone

i use the credit sinks here people thats the issues. i use them ALOT but i really wanna level new toons but to do so would make my main go broke.

i see you are cool. good for you. but i dont want a 2nd job is the issue i want to enjoy the game i am paying for,
You appear to have completely missed the point.

You can make a lot of credits very easily. It's commonly called 'gouging' & a lot of people do it successfully. It's not against any game rules & is a perfectly legitimate way of making the credits you desire with out it feeling like a second job. Then you can spend credits on your sinks all day long & still have plenty of moolah.
