DarthTexas: Can you give some insight to the numbers behind crafting? What is the baseline crit chance for crafting? How does companion affection affect crit chance? Exactly how much of a boost is +1 or +5 critical chance in crafting? Having the Reverse Engineer % chance is a nice step in removing some of the unknowns in crafting; now we just need the numbers on the creation side to be less ambiguous.

Patrick Malott (Systems Designer): The baseline crit chance for crafting is dependent on the difficulty of the crafting action relative to your current crafting skill level. The difficulty is color coded in the crafting GUI.

Orange Difficulty: 10%

Yellow, Green, and Gray Difficulty: 15%

Companion Affection scales Crew Skill chance up to +5% at maximum affection.

A Companion Trait critical chance bonus of +1 or +5 is a percentage. Example: The Imperial Agent companion character Kaliyo grants a +2 bonus to Underworld Trading Critical. This is +2% bonus.

Using Kaliyo at maximum affection as an example, if she ran a green difficulty Underworld Trading mission for you, she would have a 22% chance to score a mission critical success.

Based on what I quoted above from the Q and A I should assume that my Elara Dorn with 10,000 affection would have a better than a 1 in 15 chance at critting (getting an aug slotted) lvl 49 blue implant? And yet I just tried 15 of them, and got zero aug slots. And it is by far not the first example of this. My friend is experiencing the same trying to get augment slotted upgradeable armor made. So my guess here is that Bioware continues to state that things are a certain way, when in fact they are not at all. The loot system taking into account group makeup for example. They stated it was in, it is not. Not working as programed more likely. I could care less at the moment about added content. I think people who pace themselves and just enjoy the game would not hit dead ends with game content. HOWEVER I DO wish that the game developers would actually make CERTAIN that something is in game AND is working... BEFORE they say it is INGAME and WORKING... am I right? I love the game, I think it has some AMAZING things that separate it from any other MMO out there, but if I were to pick ONE thing that Bioware fails miserably at, it is programing, NOT creativity.

For next weeks question, on my part, will there be the ability to change EXISTING character's looks when some of this new content rolls out? A free one time change would be great but, I'd even be willing to either pay in game for a change token. I'd also be willing to pay say 5$ to change my char one time. I'm sure everyone else would be thinking along my lines as well.
Well I am sure Wookies, Trandoshians. Ewoks, Jawas, Rodians and Wookies will never be avalible for play. Bear in mind every character has a story and thus a voice actor, and none of those species speak English, and even if they did, the Trooper voice would NOT sound right on a wookie. Cathars, Nautalons, Kahesh, and those twi'liek with striped. horned tentacles on their heads might. I just hope they are different models from what is currently avalible.
Damn the fool who said history doesn't repeat itself, he clearly was not talking about MMOS.

never!

Why bother with the extra coding and designing? Everything you need is on the fleet - if everyone is on the guild ship then how you going to recruit? how you going to fps/ops etc by going to the fleet. No disrespect but this would be a waste of resources. If you really want a ship for your guild, all group up and enter the same player ship ... bam its now a guild ship

Very good Q&A saw a lot of things answered that concerned me.

Personally I hate playing a character other then human, but I love to see those lil and big critters running around makes me feel like I'm playing a MMO.

Also it seems like we have alot of Little kids who think the whole world revolves around them. If this Q&A was about pvp mostly alot of people would cry foul that you aren't talking about transfer dual specs or more species.

So Keep on Pimp'in BW.

I think you need to look at the q&a's before just retorting to insulting people who would like to see questions about pvp being answered.

They're not answering just about anything to do with pvp. But I would like to see what the "pve kids" like you would say if the q&a only answered pvp/worldpvp questions.

this is how you play a pyrotech find your target, throw the bomb you get from unlocking at 31 points in pyrotech, grapple, flame burst, rail shot, Dead target.

Dude, how about keeping forum posts simple? You're not getting more attention with that or are taken more serios. In fact most people don't like that. Thanks in advance.

Regarding the Q&A: I'm happy about the answered questions and look forward to the server population issue being solved.

Hey man I love pvp just as much as the next guy, and I asked a few questions that wasn't answered like:

1. Will we see anything other then a 8v8 style WZ?
2. City Raids (maybe not dromund kaas or coruscant but maybe a nice town that can be demolished and sacked)
3. The future of Illum
4. Can the hero engine survive a 20v20 style pvp fight?
etc.

But pvp is not the only thing that concerns me and there is no reason to spoil a great group of Q&A just cause I'm missing a few unanswered questions on pvp.

Well playing in a guild with 68 Sith Inq is balanced? I rather see some new folks come online with fresh ideas of how "Originality" works :>

It would be great if there were only a few missing "unanswered questions", but they are treating pvp questions like the plague

Well that's the thing.

Contrary to what you may think it's easier and cheaper to implement a non humanoid specie (voice wise) than English speaking ones.

Let me explain: with human voice you have to record every single dialog lines with a new male and female actor. Now with a humanoid voice, like Wookiees, you have to record a few "emotes/moods" and then you can buillt sentences melting them.

Note: that if if you don't agree with Daniel Erickson stance stating people can't relate to non humanoid species.

Now, graphically speaking new non humanoid models would need to have all gear redone for them. So far the devs aimed at skinning humans because you don't have to redo the gear.
The step after is to have humanoid species with different heads, for these you have to duplicate all head related gear and eventually code lekkus or other "moving" appendices.

So one could say Wookiees are a long way, still it could be one of the easiest non humanoid specie to add.
  1. The underlying skeleton is humanoid, just taller and thinner = no need for new skeleton nor animations
  2. It doesn't really speaks = less recording and you can change any text line without recording, ever.
  3. It's a furry specie = most of the gear don't need to show as you don't wear gloves or boots or pants on Wookiees = it would be like Bowdaar, Broonmark, Khem Val... : You don't display most of the gear, so no need for new meshes or textures for most of the gear.
