FREE Character Transfers are Coming!

Big news for the SWTOR community, especially those on low population (and super high population) servers. I am personally very pleased that BW is making this first wave of transfers free; good costumer service move on their part.

No exact ETA on the date of these transfers, but I imagine that "Early summer" means sometime in June.

I hope they do this right.
Using myself as an example.

Pre-launch I joined a large guild via the swtor website guild finder. This guild was auto-assigned to the Veela pvp server. Couple months after launch Veela died and most of my guild quit the game. This left me with a level 50 / Legacy level 18 Bounty Hunter. Frustrated I re-rolled a Sith Inquisitor on Ajunta Pal (A thriving RP-PVP server) and have been there since.
Ajunta-Pal = Med-high pop server.
Veela = Low pop server.

Will I be able to get a free transfer for my marooned BH??? It's not my fault the server population dropped so I should be able to xfer him for free to my main's server right???

Also I have legacy on both servers, how will that work?

I'm pretty sure it says "paid" server transfers as well.

And why, oh why did I know they would try to pull this server transfer junk? Because they don't want the news of server merges to happen. It's just like WoW. Instead of merging the dead servers it had, Blizzard only offered server transfers to make money and send players to worse populated servers.

This game doesn't need TRANSFERS and new ways Bioware can make more money.

It needs MERGES. PERIOD. Any less than that is just some ploy to pretend there is no problem.

And why do I have a feeling this feature will come around the time another game is announced to release?

It's not fun to not be able to get groups.

It's not fun to level alts with no one around.

It's not fun to fight my own faction over and over in a faction based PvP game.

It's not fun to wait almost an HOUR for one pvp match.

Some people have to study, work etc and don't have time to wait all day just to do ONE thing.

I don't care about how many imaginary people are supposedly playing this game.

As far as my server is concerned I . SEE . NO . ONE.

SERVER MERGES. NOT SERVER TRANSFERS. THAT WILL JUST MAKE THE DAMN PROBLEM WORSE!

To answer your questions..their current process is your legacy transfers with you..but you have to rename it..It is possible your legacy name may be available on the destination server.
However..If you already have a Legacy on the destination server that Legacy will remain and the transferred toon will be added to the existing legacy on the destination server.

Server Transfers: Needs to happen ASAP! Im glad they are moving in that direction but to the players its very clear that the population issues are driving people off on a daily basis...I brought a full guild to this game with the Pre-placement guild system...That guild and all its members save me are now gone!

I have joined another guild, and a very good one...But they still generally dont seem to have numbers greater then 8 online ever....And this is a well known guild on my server.

Im not making waves im seriously pleading with BW to recognize the daily severe imp-act server population is having on their sub base....Its huge.

People may have not cancelled completely...But after a couple weeks of logging in and not being able to get an Operation or anything alse requiring a group together...they surely will....And thats not what any of us want to happen.

We have official confirmation that one's legacy will transfer as you describe? I don't recall reading this, can you link please?
