Free transfers wont matter unless they close at least 20% of the available servers already there.

We need the community to be pro-active and organise where we will be going to otherwise you could end up transfering to a server where everyone else has left.

What WE need to do is name 5 servers from EU and US and ALL transfer to those servers ONLY, if they give us a list of 75 servers and everyone chooses randomly we are going to be in much the same positon.

You chose your server. You chose to play on it. You chose to stay there and be miserable in a game where it takes about 2 weeks to level to 50. I started over three times before I got the character that I enjoyed and would also fit into our guild's raiding make up, and I was still at 50, raiding, inside of one month.

Beyond that, they did exactly what the player base demanded at launch because these bunch of adult babies could not tolerate 5 minute queue times for a new launch when everyone knew they would die down. They did not strip the players off of your server, those same players whining about everything else left the server or the game.

Try taking some responsibility for your actions, or at least direct your complaints to the appropriate culprit. These guys are doing everything possible, as fast as possible, in an attempt to accommodate what I see after reading these boards for the past three months as the biggest bunch of crybabies ever gathered in one location.

You people need to give it a rest. Its a freaking game, not wold peace.
How on earth someone can actually think its the customers fault this fiasco happened? Every mmo player could have told what will happen to the player population after initial launch around the holidays. I understand that BWs servers can't handle as many people as in Wow but HOW would any SANE/COMPETENT person would think having double the amount of servers with 1/5 of the playerbase would be good idea?????

I think the free transfers will be pretty much fixed, like "From servers A, B, C, D, E to servers X and Y", beacuse BW probably knows best the actual population numbers. It is a wild guess, however I am also willing to bet there will be several rounds of these, ending up with forced transfers and server shutdowns.

There are two flaws in your argument here. One is that while you can level to 50 that fast, not everyone can. I personally am lucky to get 1 level in the 40s in the time I have to play on a typical weeknight. That's just how my life allows due to other real life responsibilities. I'm sure there are many others like me with limited game time that can't have a character up and raid ready in a couple weeks either. The players who can probably aren't as vocal about low population servers. Second they may not really have 'chose' the server they played on. Maybe they 'chose' to play on a server with some guild mates from another game or friends and those others stopped playing, leaving only a couple left. Let's face it. Near launch you had no idea which servers would die off. Now those few left playing are stuck or forced to start over.

I know Bioware is probably doing everything they can to resolve this issue carefully. It's good to see them finally state something in a semi official capacity about what the plan is and a general timeline. That should have been done a while ago and it would keep a lot of people pacified (barring what they say not coming to pass).

That would be the best way to do it with a selectable character transfer. Like I stated above, it would almost be better to take the control from the players and just tell players their characters are being moved from server 'x' to server 'y'. That way Bioware can control and stabilize server pops even better.

..............
Incorrect, incorrect, incorrect.

FACT: Bioware said players to choose light populated servers
FACT: They put VERY low server caps to generate artificial queues
FACT: Day next after launch, our comunity choosen server (Tomb of Freedom Nad) had 3 hours queue, so for some of us that have not so much time to play, this means no play.
FACT: For days they kept opening new servers, lowering caps and encouraging people to go to the newly opened ones, keeping existing ones at low population.

Didnt they know most people, would buy the game for christmas, play the free 30 days and then never come back?
Didnt they know most people just tries the game, doesnt fir his expectations and then never come back?
This has happened in every MMO launch, if they didnt know its their fault, not ours.
A long time from now, in a galaxy far, far away, fanbois will realize they hurt games they love in a way no troll could ever dream of.

"early summer" for me is May 1st 2012.

I hope Bioware gives the customers a way, a heads up, or a tip option to know which servers are with the highest populations. If that doesnt happen , well.... sit tight, log in every once in a while and note the servers up...increasing playerbase stress by 30%.

However, if I am paying for the game's service I expect to have the mentioned option.

Well who cares who's fault it is. Quit, if you are gonna. Im gonna wait for the transfers and then transfer. Cuz I have found that if you are on a populated server this game rules.

I see that those who will never be happy are still not happy.

They do what you want and "its too late" or even though they are doing exactly what we want now, its their fault for the situation. Who cares. This is a computer game. Its done when its done. No amount of threats to leave for another game will make the programmers type any faster.

Sit and wait instant gratification generation.

Here is a site that shows server populations for those that want it: http://www.torstatus.net/shards/us/stats

And it looks like populations are going UP.

It's a little too late for me. I used to be on a good server with great PvP, but then everyone from dead or dying low pop servers thought it would be a great idea to reroll onto The Fatman. With the massive influx of PvE players onto a PvP server, not only are there queues to login again, but there are so many bad and under geared players that warzones are not fun anymore. Forget about pugging since there never seems to be a healer in the group you get stuck with.

I already unsubbed and haven't played in over a week, even with the free month they gave.

So you are saying feedback doesn't have any effect how things are handled? You would make a great customer service manager :P

Right or wrong, Bioware is directly responsible for server populations.

Profiting from a mistake (however well intentioned) is just cynical.

I'm glad my post amused you. Actually I'm not, but sarcasm doesn't translate well.

Your point seems to be that we should be grateful for anything that Bioware do. Especially if it's on a subject that players have been asking about.

My point is that accepting mediocrity shouldn't be thing you aim for. When you make your point, when you reason an argument, when you try to make your case... you should be aiming high not low.

You seem to think doing something is better than doing nothing. That barely functional is good enough.
Whereas I was aiming for doing something poorly is worse than doing something exceptionally.

Both statements are true. All things being equal, I'd rather try to raise the bar towards exceptional rather than just accepting "okay".

If we're to challenge Bioware to do better, let's challenge them to do a LOT better rather than a bit better. Otherwise, we'll only ever get a bit better every time.

You should be careful using generalised phrases that include words like "everyone" when what you really mean is "me" or "I".

But I wanted to go to Chicago.
"No. We know best. Los Angeles is almost the same, you'll be fine".
Whatever, give me the damned ticket, it seems you leave me little choice.

"Today we announce our FREE tickets from Los Angeles to Austin, TX"
But I still want to go to Chicago.
"We can that too. That'll be $500 please. Aren't we good? You win. We win. Everyone's happy!".
Not really.
