No idea how it helps but it does for me and a few of my friends, it seems to stop the game hanging so much and just loads faster, use it or not, your choice

If you are getting load times of ~30 seconds that's just how the game is, but some of these load times people are claiming of 3-8 minutes are their computers, not the game.

I can load any zone in this game, without my SSD, in 30 seconds or less. Oh, and an SSD makes very little difference in this game so telling people they need one is nonsense. I've used WD 7200 rpm drive, my SSD, and also my SSD as just a cache and the difference in loading times is negligible.

When I was in beta I realised that loading speed was going to be a problem (reasonably so considering how massive each planet is), and so I got a SSD.

You do realise that by entering a world, it will load up that world (asset) and everything in it. Some of these loads exceeds 1GB, and unfortunately, you need to understand the games DAM system before jumping to speculations ...

Here's an ebook for those that don't have a clue, it's called the game asset pipeline http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=S...peline&f=false

AND YES, an SSD will significantly increase your loading performance assuming that you have both AHCI support and win7 for TRIM.

Just a simple bat file that I launch the game with, you might need to edit the file if you didn't install the game in the default location. https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B-c...llHSWM0emhtRkE
Or use the code below to make your own bat file.
Spoiler
The only thing that does is increase the proccessor focus on the SWTOR application. You can do that without editing any files. Just ctrl+alt+del and give SWTOR the highest priority.
I'll make this completely clear, rookie--when you're in the field, what I say goes. Period!

What's your setup?
I'm running an Intel 2500k/8gb /Intel SSD 510 and Tatooine still takes like 30sec.

The best advice I would give to those who are still with HDD is to play in fullscreen windowed mode. So when there's a loading screen you just alt-tab and do something else. Last patch introduced "Background sound" option which make it perfect.

No it won't, because most of the loading has nothing to do with your drive AT ALL. The CPU has more impact on loading times in ToR than any other piece of hardware. An SSD will improve your loading times in 99% of the games out there, ToR isn't one of them. If it improves it at all it will be a minimal increase.

What's your Correlia load time?
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?
