The respawn timer jump from 1m30s to 10m has to go

I think those death penalties aren't so good enough for the game. It sure increases the feeling of fighting to keep alive but it's to high cost. Also even if they didn't exist, it's bad enough to loose buffs and waiting for the bigger cooldowns to reset because you used them all during that particular tough fight.

Yes it is.

It's hard.

It's very hard.

This is penalizing the player too much. At least have maybe 2-3 instances of 1m30s before the 10m timer. And who does the 10m timer benefit anyway?
There isn't a single area I can think off the top of my head where this is an issue on corelia. Sorry, you are either in the heroic 4 area where you really shouldn't be solo and complaining about dying, or you've found a mystical new area nobody else has and you should be happy enough with that.

Seriously you have to die 4 times to get that 10 min timer, and then you have to run back is it really that hard NOT to do? Depending on your level, and most people do most of corelia at 50 you are already 2-3 levels above everything here. Unless you sold every single piece of gear you had as a quest reward you should be ok, either way you will most likely not get any sympathy for it as the penalty is fine in most peoples opinions.

You DIED.

You FAILED.

You should pay a penalty for that. Why on earth would I ever want to play a game where failure had no consequence? The GW2 thing saying the punishment is "the defeat itself" is like a parent saying that the guilt a kid feels is punishment enough.. of course its not! The kid would love it if he got away with whatever he did.

So yes, deaths should have some kind of consequence. Heck a few patches back, certain mid to high level quest bosses didn't even provide a respawn timer upon death, but forced you to respawn at the med-center, which was sometimes very far away. This includes the boss which is by many accounts the most difficult in the entire leveling part of the game, the Imperial Avatar of Sel Makor on Voss. I must have died 30 times and had to run allll the way back - and I rarely died/die. In the end, it was just that much more satisfying because of how hard it is.

What is the reward in succeeding in a quest or a boss fight when failure is meaningless?

This ^^^^

If they take away the timer you might as well be invulnerable.

Sometimes I miss the simple joy of naked corpse runs of entire guilds after wipes. Sometimes I miss 15-20 minute downtimes while recovering health/mana. Rare are the times I miss losing massive chunks of exp upon death.

Death is too simple, especially given we can self rezz. Gamers just keep wanting it to get easier, gonna have to raise my son on the classics it seems.

Is the "Revive at Medical Station" which resets the "Revive Here" timer broken?

Not sure, but it would not break my heart if they took it out and made the timer a 24 hour thing or something.

You lost, meaning you start over and try again ... welcome to Videogames. Thank Bioware for your previous chance to spawn and heal right where you died.
