I don't disagree that most of it is very easy, but there've been certain quests I simply haven't been able to do, at an appropriate level, solo ( a couple I tried 20+ times, it simply wasn't possible).

Having said that I've probably not played the more powerful PvE specs and classes....... but that's not much help for the less powerful classes and specs either.

I'm not a soloing "noob" either I soloed 2 x monks in EQ1 to max level in vannilla and RoK - which was MUCH harder than 99% of anything in SWTOR solo, grouped, raided or otherwise.
1) Madness specc'd sorcerer for soloing, respec to healing for flashpoints

2) Its been a while since i did voss so not sure which quest you're refering to but i solo'd the entire planet.

Hmm.... maybe range and general hybrid-ness raw power would be enough with that class/spec, not sure.

I can't remember the name off-hand either, but it was impossible with any type of companion (tried healer, tank, melee DPS and ranged DPS) with a melee DPS class with no self-healing abilities (even using the heroic self heal, I could get the boss mob to about 10-15% but that was it).

There were another 2 or 3 like that which I came across, but at lower levels so you could simply out-level them to complete them (actually there are some mobs which hit inexplicably hard in melee, but that's a slightly different thread I guess).
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

Is it possible that the OP stumbled into a Heroic area/is doing a Heroic quest solo? That is the ONLY reason I could think of that he would be constantly aggroing elites.

Could be worse, in FFXI you lose xp for every death - to the point where you actually de-level.
(It did when I played, admittedly that was a few years ago so I don't know if it's changed or they use the same system in XIV)

If I die too many times in SWTOR I just go do some space missions or see if there's any quests left from the last planet until I level up or have the credits for slightly better gear.

I enjoy the challenge being beaten brings

I stopped playing my sorc once i hit 50, its a horribly boring class to play but my guild needed a healer hence why i stuck with it, and the story line wasn't too bad but from what i remember any time i had trouble it was usually due to mine or my companions gear needing an update

I used khem right up until i got talos, then i'd switch between khem and talos depending on if i needed to stay up for longer through heals or whether i needed a meat shield.

There were a few battles that the only way to win was to use khem, let him die but by that point the bosses health would be down enough that i could finish him off before i could be killed.

things are probably tougher now that med packs have been altered, i do recall several times spamming whirlwind waiting for a med pack cooldown to finish

This is penalizing the player too much. At least have maybe 2-3 instances of 1m30s before the 10m timer. And who does the 10m timer benefit anyway?
Stop dying so much. How are you dying while leveling? I didnt even know it went up to 10 mins.

OP and the other fella who dies a lot are you aware of the companion implants and earpieces bug? You have to remove them and add them again every time you summon your companion, have a load screen or dismount. It is a known bug and in these high level areas may be the main reason you keep dieing. I myself have died in the past a few times up to the 10 min or even the next one but you learn and come back stronger it is a game not a race after all.

Yeah. The death penalty in TOR if anything is too easy. I mean..you donot even have to do a graveyard run. In GW2..appears I will have even another reason not to play it. But I do see the OP's point in this thread. The timer should not go from 1m 30 secs to 10M. A jump to 5 M and then the next one to 10M would make more sense.
Trust is something which is earned.

LOL are you kidding? I just came from a game called Runescape that when you die you lose everything you are wearing and that is in your inventory other than your 3 most valuble items and you respawn somewhere else automaticaly. It totaly sucked and has the worst developers in gaming.

This game rules and waiting 10 minutes lets me make a sandwich and go to the bathroom.

Not to mention you lose experience if you die in that game, or you did last time I played it.

Why are you waiting the 10 mins, it only takes like 2 to run back.
